From the sounds of it, Clari's got the chilli willies and should be wrapped up warm in bed/on the sofa KEF image image

  • Panda, they look lovely!  I didn't realise snowdrops had a lovely scent until I had a blind friend.  I had to pick her a bunch of snowdrops from under her hedge every time I went to visit.  And planting nose-level baskets in her garden, I always had to choose the most scented pansies and violas - yellow are the best, btw...  image

Spent an unexpected couple of hours in the garden, when I found I could do some tidying and clearing from the paths.  Didn't get in until 5.45 when it was nearly dark; it was just lovely to be out there, listening to the birds and looking at buds swelling, after so long.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Bekkie, the roses are ordered.  I've gone for Claire Austin.  They are a creamy white and should look good climbing up the black metal obelisks.  They reach about 8ft which is just about right and have a lovely scent. Ive tried to insert photo but don't know if it will work.

Panda, did I give you snowdrops last year?

How did they do?  I dug them up earlier than I usually do. I normally split them  after they die down, and replant straight away.
