  • Hello all

Big thunder here and raining a bit, really wanted to plant up my containers but scary out and wet

Tuesday was a mas of placing and planting at the station garden think some bit were difficult to plant lots of stones think I was stone mining

Yesterday was a trip to Hillier GC to a talk on bulbs we had Andy McIndoe -

he says to plant bulbs in containers for one season then plant in garden or compost them because if the foliage disappears to quick the bulbs don't get the goodness from the leave to feed the bulbs for the next year that is why they don't look as good

he also planted up a pot with lots of tulips for late season of colour in black and white and lots of bulbs as a large pot and pretty pale lemon colour wallflower dwarf sugar rush and violas and a few more pots - for impact lots of the same bulbs

I brought bright yellow sugar rush wallflower, some white muscari- grape hyacinth - white magic and some hyacinth bulbs yellow for garden and pots

Woody will add picture soon and my pics

Still storming and raining. Have done the shopping for the BBQ, wanted to sweep the terrace, too wet. Hope it doesn't rain on Saturday. The garden did need it though, no rain for nearly 2 weeks.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Beaus - you are just so cheekyimage  Love the bulbs but I'm sure they will look better in flower.  Btw I couldn't see any violas imageimage

Yvie your shed looks amazing.  Shame you have shown yourself competent thoughimage.  Reminds me of years ago when my MIL painted her lounge door it looked very streaky and I said it would look fine after a second coat.  'SECOND coat - the first one was bad enough!'   Hope your ache and pains are easing.

Gg you are busy as always - sounds as though the talk was very productive. Sounds really eyecatchingimage

Lizzie - do you ever stopimage.  Hope the weather improves for your BBQ.

Andy McIndoe setting up for the bulb talk - flogged his books at the end on shrubs and signed them to others

So here is the planter he did

Pot 1  planted up with angle wish tulips cream colour, sugar rush dwarf wallflower and violas creamy yellow
