    Morning all.

Must clean dining room as friends coming to lunch on Sunday. Then going to look after son's baby. Should have gone on Wednesday but they all had a tummy bug.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Not sure how Dove but I logged in via my iPhone yesterday for the first time. I had always been deterred by the statement that someone else already had my email address! i.e. me. Yesterday I just ploughed on and hey presto there I was. image

  • Hi Verd.. I had a pieris in the early '80s which was hit by a very, very hard frost which killed off 80% of it ( 1983 I think). I dug it up and put it in a pot. Basically one surviving twig.  It recovered. I still have it. I more or less neglect it bar watering now and then. I don't want it to get any bigger. It is a great survivor. My sort of plant!  image

    Morning all!

Tried the Mr Muscle (mine's Cif but same difference) nail-cleaning tip, with fair success...  Vigorous hair washing also works.  But blackberry preparation really stains the hands - not like ordinary garden dirt.  Though I too always wear gloves for gardening - hate it but needs must, hands like sandpaper otherwise...  image

Have a lovely Saturday folks.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Muscari Blue Angel

    Narcissus Baby Moon

    a fabulous Hellebore Neon Star

    Salvia Patio Deep Blue

Oh dear not what Hubby was expecting at all

Liri, I have a packet of those surgical type gloves for some gardening/cleaning jobs, you could try those for blackberry picking..........although I forgot all about them the other day when I painted the shed!! image

Robert Dyas do them (and many other well known shops) 99p for 10prs good quality too.

Liri, you have basically given yourself a temporary tatoo! You will just have to wait for the skin to slough off, fake tan remover may help, as will bleach, but it wont get rid, clinique clarifying lotion may help as it exfoliates- just paint your nails love, much easier!image

    Nice selection there Yvie image

Verdun, i bet the GC manager legs it when he sees you coming! image

Liri, the other day when I painted the shed, I got the bits off with nail varnish remover.

I find baking bread or making scones gets the dirt out...well - a little extra flavour does no harm...image

I permanently have paint or something on or under nails, no matter how much I scrub. Perhaps that's why none of us ever have tummy bugs! It's good to eat a bit of dirt every day image

Talking of which - cakes's ready so I'll get that out and go and do something productive outside till it's ready to fill with chocolatey-ness. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
