Minus 19c wind chill minus 30c here this morning,I let my little dog out this morning and had to go out and carry her in as she froze her paws and couldn't walk. Not going out today no matter what.
Poor little dog and poor you for having to go out Bill. Have you ever thought of moving to Scotland? It's positively balmy here compared to where you live
Heavy snow hitting about 13 miles from work. Fortunately my truck is bad weather prepared so if it makes it this far I'll be fine.
Unfortunately its the other drivers that are usually the problem!
Lunch time break so I thought I'd come and check up on you all. Okay okay... so the truth is I saw someone on Twitter saying with such excitement that their chilli seeds were germinating already and I just had to log on to try and check my messages to see when Stacey had recommended we start them!!
Been out in the garden between showers. It's actually incredibly mild for January...
Flynn helped me clear away all the dead and rotting Crocosmia leaves, playing tug with me and running around madly with his catch, suffice to say the Crocosmia have yet to be bagged (all my compost has to be bagged because I'm dismantling the old compost bins and landscaping the area before putting new ones in.)
There were little Crocosmia shoots underneath the garden debris and hopefully lots of slugs and snails for the birds who feast on them.
We are warm and dry again, its a lost cause today with frequent showers
It's chilly here in Norfolk and I've just tweaked the radiator valve up a bit - and it's tipping it down outside.
I'm feeling very virtuous going through a box of plant labels and writing up what I've planted and where. When I've got that done I'll go back and add pruning groups and other relevant stuff. And before you ask me Verdun, I don't have time to do it for anyone else
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Bill I just don't know how you survive those temperatures
Frank you've got my nose twitching showing off here I am having my garden peas tonight from the freezer but have only one more helping left along with sprouting broccoli cut an hour ago
It's been dry and bright all day but only reached 4C with a bitter wind. We've been cutting up Elaeagnus, Pineapple broom(correct name evades me), buddleja and ceanothus that were snow and wind damaged and even though wrapped up to the nines I had to call it a day so cold I felt ill WIMP !
Clari patience is a virtue but try telling that to keen gardeners.
No snow here yet but would not be surprised to get some. I told OH we would need the throw on the beds tonight I meant on our bed but was thinking about the garden at the time All snuggled up cosy in GH especially little Fidget (Brugmansia) even put some fleece on my winter salads.
Edd I take photos of my plants and where they are so I can look back but can't always find the right photo
the weather is better here. hiking, climbing and boating on the na pali coast for a couple of weeks. wonderful except helicopter tours are irritating-and go on all day. hazen wants to go to the big island for volcano eruptions and a snowball fight on mauna loa.

Stay snug and warm everyone, especially Bill.
