Cytisus battandieri KEF?  One of my favourite shrubs to grow against a warm wall, but I've never had the right place so I've never had one image  There was one in the garden at my friend's pub - lovely lazy lunchtimes in the beergarden with the wonderful perfume of the Pineapple Broom. image

OMG david spikes, what an incredible landscape you are fortunate enough to experience! I'm blown away...and talking of being blown away...

I am endeavouring to tackle blackspot this year in my garden by 1) thick mulch. (the hostas got my bestest compost last year) 2) some spraying in spring before flowers ofc and 3) clearing away the diseased leaves. I did this in autumn as much as I could reach and I'm doing it again pre spring. I hope its at least some help...I mean I actually have to pick up every single leaf image

Croaky greetings, folks!  Yet another cold has struck, courtesy of the grandchildren...  Need to throw it off quickly, because I'm helping my daughter & family with their move to Ireland at the end of the week - removal firm coming Thurs-Fri, family staying with friends over the weekend, furniture arriving in Galway the following Wednesday.  Don't know what the grandparents will be doing to help, but I guess providing food and distraction for the little girls will be high on the list...  image

Not had time to think about the garden for ages.  But I guess it'll still be there when all the excitement has died down!  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • Had everything here today - sunshine to start the day, then rain, more sunshine, sleet and snow!

Patience may be a virtue KEF but there is something special about seeing little seedlings appearing!

Hi Folks, Back from the depths of Worcestershire, really cold tonight, a smattering of snow forecast.  Definitely too cold for garening at the moment but new gardening book ( Gertrude Jekyll's colour schemes for the flower garden) arrived today so I'll just have to sit in front of the fire and make myself content tomorrow.

Good to hear from you Bekkie, welcome back.

Bill, I have no idea how you manage in those temperatures, I'm afraid I would join the bears and hibernate.

10 1/2 hour working day... not good since I am only meant to be on a 30 hour contract and am doing 20 hours over time this weekend image

I'm hoping by the laws of karma I will return to the garden (by candle light) and find my garlic sprouting! The lack of growth is starting to get a little frustrating! Roll on spring when the ground might not be too wet to work on and I'll be able to dig more vege beds!
