I've just eaten my first two plums of the year (Bekkie and BM behave!!), they were delicious I don't think I'll have enough to make any jam this year as there don't seem to be as many, but they are bigger and a lot tastier than last year......very pleased
I've had enough of the rain already Bob - you're welcome to it!
I've got a cheek - we've had hardly any rain here since the end of May
The weather during this last week has been more like a normal summer here - rainy and windy with a bit of sun. I went out a couple of hours ago to get a few things - 12 degrees
And I'm saying nothing about plums...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Very very windy here, I think the pidgeon might be here to stay so I need a name for him (or her I suppose). I'll try and post a picture but in the meantime please put on your thinking caps. He/she is mainly white with light and dark grey markings on his back. He's not liking the weather much at the moment but is still sitting on the roof. It's a wonder it hasn't blown him off! Just noticed my hollyhock has disappeared and one of my delphiniums.
There are 3 woodpigeons sitting on top of my row of runner beans and looking very sorry (and soggy) for themselves. If they didn't scoff so much of the birdseed they might have been light enough to fly to somewhere more sheltered so I've little sympathy for these particular podgy pig(eon)s!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
