Morning all, catching up after a busy day yesterday with Charlie, judo beat (up) the parents day, OH away, thanks for that, will ensure better prepared next year
Then off to make Xmas decs in the 'Christmas Village', was great fun for him but then we left them to dry, sneaked into a cafe for cake and a warm up, came back & they had packed up & gone home - with Charlie's masterpieces (was tempted to say phew, xmas tree really didn't need any 'creative' additions) but luckily (?) one of the volunteers was a teacher from school so they may well reappear tonight.
So after eventful & full day treated myself to a glass of red, some gorgeous creamy roquefort & biscuits and sat in front of fire in peace & quiet last night, savouring the moment, just feeling ever so slightly guilty, especially after the chocolate truffles appeared from nowhere
Today, after cleaning up the kitchen (again, where does all the mess come from??) off to Gardening Club Christmas Lunch, beautiful setting, restaurant over looks a lake and the sun is shining too, 8 or 9 degrees forecast too.
Hope the weather improves for all of you, sounds beastly in parts. Fingers crossed.
P.S. Edd - love the way your mind works

Awoke to a bright morning no wind, suddenly it is black as night and "OH NO" Snowing? That is my punishment for joshing RB. Massive flakes and cold enough to lay. The weather forecast says snow over a narrow section of the North East seems we are it.
Back to spotted dick and custard, some of us where in an upmarket Gastro Pub what ever that means, the waitress with one arm round my neck saying "you look like a spotted dick man to me", (had she been hiding in my bedroom?) she arrived with a large soup plate full of yellow stuff. The bold Frank was straight in "where is the spotted dick" Under the custard says she you look like a custard man to me? Wrong on all counts I like spotted dick with a little custard or should that be "Ju" what ever that is, never went back.
Funny one here today, half an hour ago it was bright and blustery, now the wind has dropped and the rain is pouring down. Hope it decides what it is doing by this afternoon, had a big box of bare root hawthorn just arrived.
