Hello everyone Archie, forgot to say yesterday (day before) thanks for the London eye pic, we have been on it before but quite a few years ago now. OH and little one in Blackpool Archie?? They're brave, you won't catch me in Blackpool now until kids are back at school, actually correction, until after Oct half term with the illuminations have finished
Just back from swimming, did a mile....it's so relaxing swimming and the only exercise I can do at the moment
The lawns are not going to get mowed today - it's too hot - and anyway, aren't you supposed to let them grow a bit longer in this sort of heat?
I've just watered the big pots of morning glories and the fig tree, and picked some beans and courgettes for supper - and I've beaten the blackbirds to some lovely fat raspberries, and I've eaten them
Now I'm going to sit on the sofa with a long cold drink and with all the doors and windows open and with my feet up - it's too hot out there
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Crab would be lovely. Salad and some nice brown bread and fresh butter to go with it for me though
Huge downpour when I was coming back from shops - garden's getting a nice watering. A lovely healthy, white astilbe fell into my trolley - only £3, and in a good 6"/7" pot.
Is the ankle still sore OL?
Know what you mean about the news Verd. It's why I'm quite enjoying watching the games if I'm inside. It's nice to see happy, proud faces and have something to cheer about. There was a Scottish lad with the same name as my Dad running in the marathon this morning. Was a bit weird as it's an uncommon name. I get a bit emotional watching those thrilled participants when they win - no matter where they're from. I'm such a big sap
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi FG, yes my ankle is still sore but not when swimming It's when it moves certain ways and is ok walking/standing for a while but not walking upstairs and if I twist it....ouch! It's hard to explain. Swimming really help bend my back a few years ago when I fell so I'm hoping it will do the same with my ankle

Half a dozen large free range eggs Lily.
A small piece of local shoulder of lamb and new potatoes for our supper and some lovely cheese for later.
And for lunch - Cromer crab buttie anyone?

I misread your post then Dove and read 'I've eaten all the blackbirds', I know you like cooking but that would be a bit drastic LOL
I really need to do some gardening but you're right, it is too hot

Dove - you forgot the cakes....
