BL will make definitely be over at yours on 17th May - see how it's done, will bring a cake though as payment for picking your brains and ideas. image

I have been invited to old college Xmas do, can't think of anything worse really, would feel such a 'has been' and wouldn't know half the people now, be like being a gatecrasher. image

Good luck with the quote Topbird, be worth it if he does a marvellous job. image

I was invited to a Class of '76 school reunion in 2006 - I really didn't enjoy it. Everybody had moved on & moved around the country & nobody had anything in common. It felt as though it was a reality Round Robin letter with everyone semi-bragging about what they had achieved, what their kids & partners had achieved and everything in the garden being rosy..

I would have enjoyed it more if people had been prepared to talk about what had gone wrong in their lives as well as what had gone right. Spent most of the time with people I was good friends with then & who I am still in touch with now - I like them & we know each others' failings ....

Well done, knew you would. I'm open 17th May, so hopefully can come and see yours, but we are going to Suffolk in July.

image  I'm likely to be spending quite a bit of time in Suffolk in July  .... if you've nothing better to do one day we might meet up for a coffee or something .... but of course, if you have other arrangements that is quite understandable image

    Afternoon image

TB, we had a reunion a year ago and when asked by the only person I am still in touch with would I be going my reply was no. They weren't my friends then, and they aren't my friends now, so no, I don't want to waste an evening in their company image

Congrats DD on the garden image image

I could suggest some very nice places to visit in Suffolk - all involve food, gardens or plants - several combine all 3 ..... image

Evening all, been grey and damp all day here.

Lots to do outside, but struggling to get motivated. The downside of having several mature Beech trees in the garden, is the amount of leaves that need to be raked up. Lots of lovely leaf mould though.

Stir fried salmon for dinner, if I can pull my finger out.

    Have a lovely evening all.

I was hoping we could meet, Dove. Didn't I wonder about a TWIGS garden visit? I want to go to Beth Chatto, Bressingham and the one you suggested ? East Ruston. We plan on 3 - 4 nights in south Suffolk and 3 - 4 nights nearer the Norfolk border or over it.

Must go and make pastry, using up the roast guinea fowl in pasties.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Congratulations DD. Maybe we can all come over on the charabanc?
