raining here but garden needs it and its so nice to see things greening up. Have the first Cowslip showing, some of my early Clematis with nodding buds and the Clematis Avalanche teasing me daily with its tiny flowers wanting to open. Not sure how large they will be never had Avalanche before; I noticed the first lot of tulip buds in one of my pots, I've got more alliums than I remember from last year and the Acers are finally breaking bud (they always seem to be last to wake up) so...April soon and things will whizz away
Relaxing day planned today, maybe a spot of decorating to finish off the hallway, OH is busy laying new floor tiles as we speak. I'm planning roast pork today but might squeeze in a trip to the GC...feels like an age since I was last there
Also have a surprise shredder turning up next week that OH ordered for me on the quiet, bless him
Your garden sounds like its getting ready to be beautiful again this year
Sorry not looked back but did anyone enjoy the bit on gardenersworld world about agapanthus? Wasn't they gorgeous? Would love a whole bed of them but never had success with any I have brought before? Any tips?
Bro is visiting Ma today so I shall have a lazy sofa afternoon with knitting, sewing, reading etc. Maybe there'll be a good old-fashioned western on the telly?
I pounced on a small piece of rolled rib of beef at the farm shop yesterday morning, so we'll have that nice and pink this evening with lots of horseradish, Yorkshire puds, roast tatties and parsnips and spicy braised red cabbage. I'll prep it all this morning so there's hardly anything to do to it this afternoon

Ooh Hosta all that lovely Waitrose food with a discount, you lucky thing, love their New York Cheescake, have to say it's the best I've tasted outside New York itself.
Pdoc, I order a lot from Crocus, their packaging is a work of art but it does protect the plants well and I have to say I've never been disappointed at what's inside.
Wintersong, it looks like Hubby is going to paint the bathroom today so decorating here too.
Dove, any room for me at the dining table, lunch sounds fantastic, I'm a real sucker for a beef roast.
SG, I've watched quite a bit of 24 but there are some of the later series that I've missed. I thinked you've given me an idea for a new thread.
BM I loved the bit on agapanthus. I have three one is romping away the other is doing OK and the third only went in in the Autumn so we'll see how it goes, it does have some new shoots so fingers crossed. All of them are in the garden not pots.
Off to have a look round and possibly start that new thread to while away a really rainy dull Sunday.
We are wet and windy as well. Lot of it about today.
Did 5 hour shift at pub last night, so not in bed until 12.00 then took a while for me to unwind and fall asleep. Still got up at new time to see to the animals. Less than 5 hours sleep. I will be having a nap after dinner.
Hope to go to West Kington nurseries at the end of April. They have special sale days when the public can go and buy goodies. They grow the perennials for Barbara Austin. So saving up my pennies for that.
Yvie, we're sitting down at 6pm The more the merrier - I can stretch it by doing extra Yorkies Rhubarb crumble and cream for pud ok?
The spicey red cabbage is in a slow oven already - smells wonderful.
We've spent the last week watching a pair of bluetits popping in and out of a nest box on one of the big ash trees opposite the studio window. When they're not busy doing that they're chasing off Gt tits and keeping them away from their tree. For the past couple of days I've noticed a robin spending a lot of time in that tree as well, and flying down to the veg patch and the terrace outside the studio where the fig tree and Campsis radicans are in their big pots. There is a robin-type nest box behind a waterbut next to the Campsis - I don't think it's being used but ........

Have fun with the new shredder Wintersong. I got one from freecycle a few weeks ago. I don't know how I've managed all these years without one.
Having tennis elbow ( probably from gardening ) I no longer have to cut stuff like Verbena into little bits before composting.
Sounds like you have a dream OH wintersong

Morning all.
Wet and windy here, so no gardening today.
Got an order from Crocus, to come tomorrow, so that is always exciting, even if it does take several hours to unravel their very secure packing.
Have a good day everyone.

We've got the excitement of our Waitrose agm to look forward to this evening. Coo , the thrill of it.
We've made it quite clear ( we both work there ) that we MUST be home in time for Poldark.
