  • Still in pjs here but heading for the shower now - suddenly my week seems to be filling up with social events so I'd better do some housework today or we'll be living in a midden image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Good morning, thank you for good wishes. image

Would love to say the garden is looking marvellous but it's not, very grey, light drizzle and wet underfoot. Have just two chrysanths flowering  and that's it, some lovely shrubs in good colours but now feeling very sheepish about thinking it is worthy of a public viewing. image

If I get rejected I will need a lot of TLC later. image

On a lighter note love Lowry, the museum in Manchester is super, they also do a great child friendly tour, my little boy loved it.

At the cardiologist a few weeks ago son spotted a Monet on the wall and was very impressed that the doctor should have one of his paintings, he had done  topic on Monet previously in school and obviously considers himself a 7 year old expert! image

OH in UK this week so will be living off leftovers and mish mash dinners, I love them, OH not so much, starting off with carrot and tarragon soup, a la Delia and btw, last night had carrots roasted in crushed coriander, black peppercorns and garlic, was absolutely gorgeous, again a Delia recipe. image

Right, going to see if I can work a small miracle in the garden! Report back later.

    Morning all.

You'll be fine DD, you've already worked several small miracles in the garden! It was pouring when they inspected my friend's garden.

Must plant more tulips, must do housework. Going to England via my daughter in north of France on Friday. Must do housesitter's room.

Morning all, just back from hospital having my eyes tested, to hopefully prevent my Glaucoma getting as bad as my Mums.

It's funny I hate going into the hospital now in case I bump into former colleagues.

    Have a good day.

How can you lie there and think of England

Well done, knew you would. I'm open 17th May, so hopefully can come and see yours, but we are going to Suffolk in July.

    Morning everybody image

Congratulations DD imageimageimage - I don't think any of us who have followed the pictures and tales of your garden restoration had any doubt you'd pass. Bubbly all round?

Know what p'doc means about going back to old work environments. I've worked in a couple of places where I made friends and where I've stayed in touch for many years. Others tho' - collars up & head down hoping I'm not recognised.

We're having our border hedge significantly reduced in height as well as some tree surgery - tree surgeon has just left & will be sending the quote this week. I think it will hurt.... image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
