I shredded the phlomis. It reminded me why I hate the thing. Tiny hairs all over like itching powder. I ended up with kitchen roll and a scarf over my face to stop me inhaling. With ear defenders on I must have looked quite a sight. Still, scarf and ear defenders matched!!!!

Then the window cleaner turned up, and I borrowed his ladders to get on the garage roof and cut down as much apricot as I could with loppers. The thick bits need a chainsaw but that can be done later. I've put most of that through the shredder as well, and filled another builders bag with shreddings. The first one is steaming nicely.

I itch all over now so I'm going to have a long bath and wash my hair. Might see you later.

Panda and friendimage, have a good time at the seaside. Don't wear out the donkeys, it's too hot for them.

Just picked the first of my Buerre de Roquencourt beans - they could probably have stayed on the plant a bit longer and grown a bit more - but we're hungry

I started a thread of my before and after pictures from my garden as a whole, I just wanted to share them and also wanted a bit more advice on where I can improve but it's hasn't turned out that way....if anyway wants a look and can offer any tips (in particular for the established border on the right hand side where plants need dividing) it would be much appreciated image

Baby panda paraleggic on Pimm's? OLs secret meetings continue. Fidget has maatching de- phlomasing gear. Staceys feeling a bit poo-ly. Goodness knows what else has happened to you all on this blistering hot Tuesday!

Had a lovely day out with mum and sis. Went to Yorkshire sculpture park ( won museum of the year), ooo'd over paper cutouts, ahhed over rob Ryan things. My favourite was Sophie Ryders 'Upside down kneeling'. Yummed over cake. Then went on to Holmfirth, lunched in last of the summer wine cafe, wandered up dale and down thingy, applauded the tour de France trimmings and memorabilia. Then home to mine for ice cream, and sis admired my garden especially new squirrel grass to which she helped herself to a couple of spares.

Now sat out with tequila beer and fresh berries.

Evening all, sounds like you've all had a lovely day in the heat, apologies have only read last few posts, wanted a quick catch up, bekkie, can you wait til autumn to move rose? Best if poss, has anyone seen our resident vicar? Need someone to read last rites ( is that just catholic? from a catholic family but am shocking heathen!) to my sweet peas every bloom coming out shrivelled, just upsetting me to look at them now, will pull up this week and plot what roses can go there
