Morning all. Porridge required here with this colder weather! Left the canna out so it'll have to take it's chances. Don't think it's much colder than the last couple of days have been anyway - temps have only been 4 or 5 when I leave to go to work.
I only have tulips in pots now Lesley. I love them but they get battered by wind and rain here normally - just as they flower. AT least in pots you can shift them around. The only ones that last in the ground are the species ones or the bog standard red/yellows.
Quick look round before I go - not been on here for a day or two. Nice to see you again Edd. Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Folks! If you'd like to celebrate with me this evening - this is the first anniversary of My Retirement! I understand that bonfires will be lit and celebratory firework displays are being held in commemoration of this great event - I shall be waving graciously from the balcony (or front porch) at 6pm
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
MrsGarden no frost here, wet and 6C. My lavenders are okay over winter in the garden, granted they are in a well drained area, I thought it was excessive wet that did them in not cold
I have tulips in pots as well as in the garden, I planted the garden ones last year when bulb fever hit the forum I'll have to wait and see if they show.
I've only had indoor hyacinths once OH found the perfume unappealing making some comment about tomcat. Might try a white ones.
Bill lovely Autumnal colours
Edd if bicarb gives you that much enthusiasm I might have to have some, Clari it might be cure to prevent hibernation. I remember my grandma taking it for another reason well I guess that would also prevent sleeping too long.
Posts
I must confess I can't see what it relates too Dove either.
I'm trying to decide whether to nip into the garden centre and get a hyacinth. We're always away over Christmas is the disadvantage.
Good morning
Great to have you back Edd. I need more tea before I attempt to read last evening's posts.
Best wishes to the workers
Clari - keep it in the cool until you get back after Christmas - with luck it shouldn't flower until you bring it into the warm
