Rosemummy - somehow I had a couple of dozen last year but was determined to cut down this year, so gave lots of my little plants to a friend
................... who then gave me even more of hers, many of which don't have labels
I was going to tidy my garden up ready for Panda Inspection tomorrow, but it's been too hot to do anything but water, so she'll have to appreciate it's 'rather wild look'.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Evening all! His lordship decided that what with it being the hottest day he'd decree we were having curry for tea. Am I not positively glowing at it is?
Aaahhhhh just seen Claris post I'm swelling with pride ace job those chillis look AMAZBALLS........ Lol. Better than mine this year which have been neglected and my under Gardner hasn't done so well!!!!!
Flower and veg show all set up in village hall. No entries yet, they arrive in morning, but we have set out cards, tables etc so that as entries arrive they can straight to the allotted place. All very efficient, and planned with military precision, by some of the committee who go way back. I am in awe of them, even if I am technically the Chairman . I always do as I am told. By everyone!!
In fact I concentrate more on flowers than veg. altho' I have some hopes for my pots and runners ( 5straight and identical beans ). Dove, apparently in the scoring system you can get 5 for uniformity, but only 3 for size.
Hi Verd, yes it does seem like yesterday when we were preparing for last Year's show. The 2 years are quite different. Last year I had loads of lovely roses and only one or two Dahlias. This year the roses are almost over their first flush, but there are lots of dahlia entries. I also have some fantastic glads, purple and orange.
It is going to be such a fantastic day, and Gg should be there too to cheer us on. And CAKES, and ale later....
Thank you Stacey! I'm loving growing them - and thanks to your advice not over watering them which would have been my habit otherwise. They're scattered across the greenhouse and plastic greenhouse. Growing quite big now this extended warm weather has given them quite the growth spirt.
