Agapanthus looking good, I have queen mum agapanthus, Our white agapanthus are resting this year after being moved last year put into a raised bed and moved back nearer the wall - as right out side the back door, they sill flowered last year even though moved
Been in the garden clearing area for a large - high up raised bed to be my nursery bed
Annual Flower and vegetable show at weekend, and have put in for a few classes, including Tarte Tatin. To be clever I found a recipe for Tomato TT, not apple. Schedule doesn't stipulate. Have just cooked it for first time, but not sure if it is a huge success. Have just put it back in oven to try to rescue it. We will see!1
Love agapanthus, Stacey. I've got quite a few blue ones in pots and some in the ground. they are all quite big plants but I've only got one flower on each plant. They are all quite root bound and the ones in the ground I buried big tiles round them to keep them a bit constricted. On a radio gardening program they said said you should never feed them so I'm going to starve mine so I might get more flowers next year.
Hi Pam, I think I'm going to dig mine up when it's finished flowering and put them in a pot, I have one that would be ideal. Do you think you could put Lowe growing bedding plant (i.e. trailing Lobelia or similar) in the pot to give colour before it flowers?
Just walked the dog and seen some lovely plants....gorgeous Lillie's, a white Hydrangea, lots of agapanthus and lots of beautiful hanging baskets.....I'm on a mission to have beautiful hanging baskets next year and am going to grow petunias
Hi OL, I'm no expert by any means but I think agapanthus like to be root bound so there wouldn't be room for anything else in the pot but maybe in the first year you might be able to grow something else in before the agapanthus fills the pot.
Maybe not to late to have some petunias this year. I've seen some trays of them being sold off really cheap.
Ooh, I hadn't realised that Pam, I thought it was too late Might have a trip to B&Q they usually have bedding / hanging basket plants cheap but I thought they'd have all gone, thanks
Oh B*&&£$ pam lol i just sprinkled slow release fertiliser all round and into the soil lmao!!!! I have black panther in a pot and to be honest it is neglected and i must have 30+ flowers on it this year!!!! Maybe a bit of neglect next year! Forgot to say, Woody that sounds delicious, much nicer than the 'delicacies' being discussed earlier
Good look with your entry, fingers crossed
