  • White agapanthus have much wider leaves which is the general rule for A's that may be most tender. My blues are much thinner. I always take my whites indoors over winter/early spring. I protect the latter from exceaa moisture only, outside.

Another day of sitting around in the office waiting for our 13:00 meeting tomorrow to discuss redundancy.

I'm in an awful catch 22 situation with the job I REALLY want and its rather messing with my brain. They need someone to be there getting them work, think I'd be perfect for it, but because work isn't coming in they've no funds to pay any one.

The only way around it is for me to work for nothing until the cash flow improves to the point that they can pay me but of course that doesn't pay the mortgage and I don't want to be in a situation where I start doing this work for free and they take advantage and then expect it to continue long term rather than give me a paid job.

Its all too much for my brain to absorb!!

Beautiful Dove.  I love daylilies and that colour is gorgeous.  A lovely memory too.

If you're doing the lawns can you do mine too?  Weds is mow and feed day but have been really tired this week (must be something going round) so didn't last night.  Managed to water the dahlia pots but nothing else this morning so bit concerned what I'll get back to, so if while you're mowing you can do a bit of watering too, then that'd be appreciated. And tomato feed is in the garage.  Scissors for deadheading roses are in the greenhouse. Ta image

I re-descovered my daylily called gentle shepheard earlier in the year, it had been smothered by something else! image

Oh Clari, tricky situation!  Sorry, posts crossed - there's me waffling on about mowing and watering when I should have been sending you a hug.

Dont know what sort of business you do - is there anyway you could agree on taking a cut of whatever you bring in, as a temporary contract until they can offer a regular salary.  At least that way you dont get taken for a ride.

Verdun, how come your taraxicum officionale are so very far behind mine? They've all been and gone up here. Do you grow a late flowering one special? I'd love to be able to extend the season of them in my garden they really improve the look of the lawn.

Supernoodle. I'm not sure how that will work I'd already be taking a £3,500 pay drop to work for them (compared to what I currently get which is about average for my line of work). I think my only real option if I want it to work is to offer six months part time free labour for them and find myself a paid part time position to keep the money coming in. If after six months we're still not making enough money to employ me full time than I will have to decide to find a job elsewhere. I just hope that it wouldn't cause too much stress with my partner if I were working six / seven days a week image

Waffle away - I really need to get out in the garden and water every thing a few plants are not enjoying the neglect of late. The weather report keeps threatening rain!

Morning Bekkie, have another cup of tea and hopefully they'll settle the tablets down!

That is true Bekkie. At least when I get a definite YES or a no (not yet) I will be able to move on rather than my currant plan for all eventualities.

I am finding my super sensitive hearing is not good in an open plan office as I can hear ALL the conversations going on about finances, the lack of work coming in, arseholes thinking that now people are being made redundant they're going to work it to their advantage for a £6,000 pay rise, machines breaking that we can't afford to fix... I think I might have to resort to ear plugs!!
