  • can't believe Monty Don is coming back. Much preferred Toby. All Monty talks about is compost and doesn't seem to appreciate the beauty of flowers that Toby does. Toby is far more interested. Really disappointed with the BBC. Why try to fix it when it isn' broken.
  • 660 - synicsue. Do you think your posting is above being "a load of tosh" (your words). The blog is valid and I very much doubt that we are "posting over and over again" (your words). What is being said is important and I suspect the majority are for Toby and against Monty.
  • Really disappointed at losing Tony and Alys, why do you muck about with this programme. Have you just abandoned these excellent presenters, I hope another channel takes them up and I can watch them on that channel Very disappointed
  • Roll on March!!! Can't wait to see Monty back on GW and we can return to a decent gardening programme, instead of the rubbish we have had to put up with over the last couple of years.
  • Roll on March indeed.Stopped watching when Toby took us to the reclamation yard!!Carol is superb also lets get back to proper gardening NOT garden centre shopping. Take care Monty we have Soooo missed you !
  • What a treat!-first we get rid of Gordon Brown, and now Monty Don is back-what more could you ask? all that remains is the disposal of Eastenders, Neighbours, and these stupid 'reality' shows and the licence fee is a bit more worthwhile. Since Strictly Come Dancing has ended there is no TV show with a live band or anything like decent music, let us watch more like this BBC, (still the maker of the finest TV progs.) eg. Edwardian Farm, Zen, Antiques Roadshow, etc.
  • I have just read my gardeners world magazine and am very shocked and disappointed to see that you have got rid of Toby Buckland and Alys. Why have you done this?He was like Geoff Hamilton.I like Monty but I was enjoying the programme with Toby and Alys. Now I don't think that I will want to watch it .I have watched this programme since it started and I was only a little girl. It's not Toby's fault that Monty wants to come back, why can't you have both and let them take turns in presenting the show???
Thanks very much to whoever did this.....NOT.
  • I am shocked and disappointed to hear you have got rid of Toby and Alys.I have watched this show since it started and I was only a child.I think it is wrong to have axed them like this.Hope Toby and Alys get a show of their own and I will watch that instead of yours now.Sorry,I like Monty but don't like the underhand way this was done.
  • Fantastic news that Monty Don and his team are back in the Spring-am so looking forward to the Friday night programmes as I have really missed his approach, encouragement and passion to get the most from your garden-whether it be a 'postage stamp' or a large expanse of ground, woodland or whatever. We've discovered that we can have both productive patches, beautiful flowers and shrubs -encourage wildlife and enjoy nature. I've always thought that Alan T. and Monty got half the nation gardening- and with the familiar team and being allowed into his home garden,it should be a brilliant series.
(whatever happened to beautiful Berryfields?)Best wishes to all.
  • Really looking forward to my Friday evening viewing with Monty back at the helm. I thought that Carol would have been the ideal presenter in his absence but am thoroughly enjoying her current Friday evening slot until G.W. returns.
