  • Really pleased that Monty is returning to the programme.
I have watched Toby and Alys and always felt that the 'gardening' was lacking passion. It will certainly be back with Monty at the helm.
    What a great line up - Monty,Rachel,Carol & Joe.
This piece of news has made my year! Roll on March 2011.
  • Not exactly breaking new ground going back with Monty Don. I don't think it is right for the BBC fee payer to be paying for Monty and his team to look after his own garden. I thought Gardeners World was there to help new gardeners not seasoned gardeners who want a bit of light entertainment on Friday.
  • Welcome back Monty - we missed you.
  • I can now start to watch GW again. I have never been so bored as this last year. Monty.Carol and Joe make GW for me, Rachel is just a waste of space I would rather have Sarah at least she,s interesting. Welcome back Monty.
  • Is all the work that was put into Greenares to be wasted? Was this to suit Monty?

Would like to have seen some 'new blood' but delighted Carol and Jo still to be part of the team.

Have not been waching GW so avidly since Monty first took over. I will give it a try but something about this new set up does not seem above board.
  • Sorry you will not be presenting Gardeners' World Toby maybe you need a bigger garden!!.I object to my licence fee being wasted on Greenacres and then paying a team of Gardeners to look after Monty Dons Garden. It used to be my must watch programme before and after Monty Don now it will be a catch it if I remember
  • Absolutely delighted to hear Monty will return- just hasn't been nearly so good without him. Love Carol and Alys too so hope to see more of them
  • I'm so glad that Monty will be back with us in the Spring, it will be like a breath of fresh air to have him on the telly again,I really did not like Toby very much, Alys was bearable but I must admit I did stop watching after the first series, Toby always seemed to be out of breath, even at the slightest job. I am not sure about Rachel coming back though, I much prefer Carol and her hands on approach, though I do agree she rattles on a bit about plants for free.
I shall really look forward to my late supper and glass of wine in front of Monty on a Friday night, it just hasn't been the same.
  • Wonderful news that Monty is returning and with a proper garden too. My husband may even watch as Rachel is rejoining the show. Its the only time he shows any interest in gardening!
  • What on earth is the BBC playing at? Rachel is not a gardener as such, and will not get her hands dirty for love or money. She is good at presenting programmes like the Flower Show and Stately Homes Gardens and people with a few acres of land. These kinds of gardens are not for the ordinary man as such. I like Toby and Monty Don also Joe and Alys. Taking into account that 3 of them are horticultural professionals and this is not Monty's field. Carol does nothing else but explain seeds and cuttings, true it is an important part of gardening, but it is not necessary to have one person devoting a part of the programme every week. What about the garden at Greenacre, there are project just started and projects in the process of being done. Why can't Monty Don travel from his home to Greenacre, it is only about an hours drive for him, which if he is well should not be a problem for him. The BBC cannot be seen to be wasting Licence Fees at a time like this. I want answers as to why this is happening, and no excuses!!!
