I'm so disappointed with this decision and suspect I'm rather more sad about it than GW professes to be. It's one of the most practical and actually useful things on the GW website. I tend to lurk rather than post but have learned so much from forum members that can't be learned elsewhere.
Thank you all for the benefit of your advice and experience.
Reason why I am posting here is to find out if there's an easy way of deleting or transferring all our post history etc to our on personal clouds or storage etc. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks
It is not possible to delete your post history. Re transferring to a cloud, possibly there is a way computer whizzs would know about, but my guess is it would be time-consuming and fiddly.
One of the good things I have noticed on GC, is that it seems to be much better policed, which will hopefully mean that the abusive posters will be banned much sooner. Certain people on here will have to watch out.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
You can copy your own posts by going to your profile (click user name) >> click the "little person" icon top right>> scroll down and click on posts. Depending on the browser used , you can select all the posts shown and then paste them in Word or Excel etc. You can do this in a text or table format in most browsers. One little problem is a) if you have loads od posts and b) you have to keep loading more. My paltry 130+ took me 1-2 minutes.

I am not a very active poster but I find this forum a fabulous resource. The help and advice is always so practical and easy to understand compared with that I've found in gardening books.
From my little experience of the site it's so clear what a kind and supportive community it is and so I'm very sad for those of you who have formed long lasting friendships here. I'll head over to GC and hope to see many others there
What a shame, I belong to only two forums, one for German Shepherd owners and this one and I have always felt that it is like talking to friends - you don't get that feel on Facebook. I will miss it.
I just found out this forum is closing. It's a real disappointment for me - I felt sad to read that email. Makes me think how delicate and easily destroyed these internet communities are - just the touch of a button and it will go. While the people in these communities are very real to me, real lovely people all with their different personalities.
I just want to say thanks to all the wonderful and patient people here who have helped me over my many and somewhat excessive posts asking for help. You have been extremely patient with me and my utter lack of any gardening knowledge. I feel like I had only just got started, and had many more annoying questions to ask. I also really love how UK based this is, as another forum I'm on (not to do with gardening), is more USA and friendly too, but it was great to get to know some locals.
Really sad to bid farewell to all you good people. Hope to see some of you again on our internet travels ...
After reading the first five pages of comments in this thread, it seems that most people are now planning on re-grouping in Gardeners Corner, so I will sign up there.

” We’re very sad to announce that the GardenersWorld.com Forum will be closing.”
I don’t get this. If they’re sad then don’t do it. Surely they mean
“We’re very pleased to announce ….”
