But the forum is nothing without the people - it is just a place, like a house - it's not the place but the people in it. So move across to GC and be with the people you care about and who care about you.
Whilst agreeing in the main with what Fairygirl said above, I have noticed over the time I have been 'lurking' quite a snug little group of old members, who DO have 'profiles' being unnecessarily unpleasant and snide both to newcomers and regular posters, particularly in regard to personal preferences, grammar and spelling, or belief systems. If you've missed these, all I can suggest is that the remarks have either been reported and removed, or quickly bumped off the page by other 'oldies' trying to shield their own reputations.
I'll not be joining the other forum, because I daresay they'll be awash with refugees from here, and no doubt a few of the GW snideys will be among them.
Exactly @Beastie29 - you hit the nail on the head there. I moved across to GC a while ago because of this and found others there who related similar stories of 'problems' on GW.
And now I can't even relax on GC cos' they've all followed me there! Although one particular person, the rudest & most hypocritical on GW, hasn't as yet. We'll see.

just tried looking around Gardeners Corner, it seems that what you put there will be appearing in various social media such as X, FB, Google, Bing, etc .. i may be wrong, but those who have joined so far may be able to share back here their experiences!

I was just looking at info about those running this forum. Read the last sentence above. The closure makes no sense at all. It’s quite bizarre.
Does anyone know if the MD of BBC GW magazine Catriona Bolger, did in fact leave between December 2023 and January 2024? (To go to Hearst's Homes' portfolio)...It looks as though she did, and this may have a bearing on the current situation?
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
I'd be surprised if we ever found out the real reason.
Money. Immediate Media is a commercial enterprise that has to account for its expenditure at all times. Running the forum amounts to a nett loss probably.

I haven’t posted much as I don’t know a lot about gardening but the advice and support offered on here has been amazing when I’ve asked questions. From this novice gardener…thank you all for being so welcoming and helpful. The closing of this forum is a sad loss.
Don't be shy, @LunarSea tell them it is me, I really don't care, and at least I know that I have helped many people on this forum, and also helped to remove some of the trouble makers that you seem to empathise with.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
