No, my hip is doing pretty well, but I have long term mental health issues, some of which seem related to chronic insomnia. Things have not been as bad as this for years. I am getting rather worried about another bout of depression occurring.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I do understand @punkdoc, it's very complex, the link between the two especially with your working history. Try and get some help as soon as possible. Good that the hip is doing well 😀
Thanks for your kind wishes everyone. Haven't heard yet how my brother's doing today. Unfortunately @Badly_Maintained, he's dying of congenital heart failure and nothing more can be done for him. He has lost a lot of weight and doesn't feel much like eating. He'll be 73 next month. It is actually a miracle he has lived this long so we're grateful for that.
I managed nearly three hours in the garden this morning, clearing the back of the shed, cutting back some native honeysuckle - is there a way of keeping this in check, it's going berserk? I've hung some of my new brightly coloured tin pots on the trellis which I think it work a treat to hold small things. I've also lightly pruned a climbing rose and some of the wisteria. It hasn't rained yet but now looks as if it might any minute now, which is probably a good thing as it will make me rest!
Glad to hear the new hip is healing well @punkdoc but sorry about the insomnia.
I felt that way when we changed the Fiesta @Dovefromabove, still haven't got to grips with all of the bells and whistles.
Sorry @punkdoc. Counselling? It has helped me. The black cloud is always around the corner but I have learnt how to keep the door shut to it as much as I can. Don't be hard on yourself, you have been ill, had an op or two and were forced to sit around the house for ages, the right thing to do for the hip of course, but not the mind. If your hip is now OK, can you go away a couple of days if your OH can come with you?
Thank you @coccinella. I was under a psychiatrist for many years and also had quite a lot of CBT which I found helpful, and still try to use the tools now. We have got my MIL's 90th up in the far north of Scotland in a couple of weeks, so if I can start to get comfortable in the car, we will be away for a few days.

Afternoon everyone, not posted so much recently not a lot to report. We were both laid low for a week with those colds, so not much activity. Sorry to hear of your struggle @punkdoc my late brother always suffered at this time of year. These grey wet days don't help. A bit better here today but I have been indoors finishing a job from yesterday. Anyway here's a pot of crocus to brighten things up
It didn't rain today but I didn't get outside until this afternoon. I booked the river cruise on the Danube that we'd been looking at. OH wants to make up for the 4 years of waiting for his hip replacement. The cruise looks lovely and I've never been to Vienna. Also had a long chat on the phone with my sister.
I weeded and mulched and planted 18 violas. Only a quarter of the long border left to do.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks @Songbird-2. SIL has had a terrible day trying to organise supplies, he got sent home without any but that's now been sorted. They were enjoying a beer and a whisky earlier tonight and relieved to be home.
