@thevictorian whenever I have included the words "use the search" in any response to a query it is never put in such a brusque manner as suggested. I also tag one of the experts in order that they can possibly help and add to what I have said. I usually qualify with a warning that the Search Function doesn't always work terribly well IME. Some new users may not be aware of all the functions that the forum offers and so it can be a useful pointer. I cannot believe that anyone would find that unwelcoming. I certainly hope not anyway.
Hi Philippa, sorry I wasn't trying to suggest that pointing out the search function was unfriendly, more that in some cases, albeit a very small number, it has come across as abrupt like "use the search button" with no other words in the post (it may have been the same member each time and i dont even know if they are still around, i think they were a bit of a troll with multiple accounts). I know there are many helpful people who encourage others to revisit old posts and I don't think anyone would take umbridge with that. I was just using it as an example of past behaviour and didn't mean to offend anyone. I am just going by my experience when I signed up to the forum, which was some time ago now. I told a few other people to check it out and they just said they couldn't be bothered with it because it wasn't all that welcoming. I think that's a shame because it isn't how I see it now as there are some lovely people.
Isn't it January 31st today? Or have I got it wrong? The last post above, by thevictorian was timed at 12.10 but the 'posted date' in 'Discussions' shows it being posted yesterday. Summat not right here. What have I got wrong? Is there a time warp or something? I just thought I'd give the thread a read as a newbie but now I'm baffled by the weird timings. Don't recent posts get posted to the top of a list, like they do on most forums I go on? I've just looked at my calendar and it's definitely January 31st. Is it all the threads that do this, or just this one? No point me asking a question in a new one then if its never going to get to the top where people who can help can see it.

Censoring what? Boiled eggs? Are they too risqué?
What a funny place this forum is.

This forum is going downhill fast.
