The above comments are all very interesting it is like dejavu as I used to be a member of a sailing forum years ago which had almost identical comments.
@thevictorian whenever I have included the words "use the search" in any response to a query it is never put in such a brusque manner as suggested. I also tag one of the experts in order that they can possibly help and add to what I have said. I usually qualify with a warning that the Search Function doesn't always work terribly well IME. Some new users may not be aware of all the functions that the forum offers and so it can be a useful pointer. I cannot believe that anyone would find that unwelcoming. I certainly hope not anyway.
As for the Egg quandary - I use a sharp knife, tap in the middle and Bob's Your Egg - the other method I have used on the odd occasion is to drop it on the floor
The thread has become stuck at 12.27 following Waterbut’s post with no further remarks showing after that but, additionally, the 12.27 post is under your name, not Waterbut’s (unless you are Waterbut)?
In fact, after checking, the 12.27 post is now in my name, although I can assure you I am not Waterbut.
