Good morning Debs. It must be nice have a breathing space from work today. How is your hunt for a new job going or are you waiting to see what will happen at the pharmacy?

Hi LB, I really need to register on a few employment sites but I suppose a part of me just wants to keep my old job with my old team. I know I need to be proactive instead of hoping for a miracle. We have now gone to a 7 day wait at work for repeat prescriptions and it’s not going well patients are very unhappy. We need to prepare them for when prescriptions go away to be dispensed. We are also struggling to get enough good pharmacists again.
I think today is the day for me to work on my CV.

Morning all. After a day of unmentionables yesterday OH and I are popping to a gc this morning, he’s after some more small slabs to edge the veg plot so that we can access the flower border next to it. I might have a browse round the plants😊

Debs, our GP surgery went from 2 to 4 waiting days to get a prescription a little while ago and then when the prescription gets to the chemist, it can be up to another four days before we get then actual prescription. We have been advised by the surgery to allow for this when we put in a prescription now. So I always allow over a week before my meds run out when/ before I put in a request for a repeat prescription. People  can get used to such changes, just takes a little time.

Must get on so have a nice day everyone.

    Morning all.

We will be packing and loading my car today to go back to France. Things will be going on here while we are away, weather permitting, garden path man, house painting man, gardening man.

My French handyman, CB, says my French garden is like a bog and I will need wellies to walk across the lawn. I told him I'd hurt my back and I'd wanted to get on with the vegetable garden when I get back. He said it's too wet and I will have to wait for dry weather.

We have to wait a week in Norfolk for repeat prescriptions too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Good morning Hazel and Busy. Regarding repeat prescriptions, I always allow the recommended 72 hours advised by my surgery and then add on enough days to make it a week. When I called at the pharmacy to pick my latest prescription, I still had to wait whilst they were preparing it for me. I don't mind this though as it least I know I am going to receive it.
Busy, believe me I can empathise with your French garden description. The lower end of my garden is not getting any time, as yet, to dry out. Today is not helping.

What an odd morning . At GP surgery  there was a long queue with only one person behind the desk… that person had a major problem that didn’t seem to be getting resolved. After waiting for ten minutes, I gave up.

Went to gc where there were more items of furniture than plants and the plants they had weren’t very inspiring. Got the slabs and went to cashier. You guessed it, got behind another customer who had a major problem which was taking its time getting resolved.

On way home we’re cut up many times by other cars which set us on edge. Decided to drop in at surgery again, queue only small. So I waited. One person got served quickly but the second one, you guessed it, was another flaming problem case. I nearly walked out but another lady came behind the desk so managed to be dealt with…after a wait of about five minutes waiting for a form to be printed out!

Got home, had dinner, then….l received a text from the chemist saying my prescription was ready to pick up. I hadn’t requested a prescription! Gawd…….rang chemist up, they said surgery had sent over a prescription. Don’t know what is happening today but it’s all topsy turvy. Think I’ll have a lie down😂

    Good afternoon all.
Hazel, I think someone at your chemists must have had a sneak peek at your second to last post!
Well the rain stopped and the sun made a feeble attempt to break through - failed miserably. I spoke with Jack earlier and his daughter is still in hospital - the second time in a fortnight. He is hoping she may get home today but I'm ringing him later to see if he needs any shopping doing. I will be going to the SM tomorrow.

LB, it certainly seems that way! Hope Jack’s daughter gets well soon and returns home, it must be a worry for him.

This afternoon we decided to get out in the garden even though it wasn’t very pleasant. OH has managed to lay his new slabs ( the ground and grass were nice and soft to cut through and get up ) whilst I planted out  three pots of Monarda babies and some snapdragons. The latter are covered for the time being but are getting in the way in the greenhouse now as OH will want to start sowing seeds soon. They will just have to take their chances outside now. Would you believe now, that the sun is trying to break through the clouds?
