You're right, of course @Ladybird4. Water management is crucial in a garden that holds water and get hissed on regularly It would be nice to get something more creative and tangible done on a rare dry weekend day though.
That drain has been bugging me for weeks - it's been overflowing and dribbling onto the back lawn at times. Not a great view through the kitchen window. Nobody else has noticed (wonder who does all the washing-up???).
I did get rid of a surprising number of these as well.
Don't know what it is but there were quite a few lurking in shady, damp spots!
Lovely morning outside, warm and sunny. I'm ready for new week, last in January. First month is almost over, so so quickly. I'm finishing my cup of tea then must go.
Good morning Ante. Keep smiling our friend. I cannot believe how quickly the weekend passes. Blink and you miss it! Pouring down as usual.
@Biglad, those look like irises to me; speaking of which I have noticed the spears of flag irises popping up around my pond and here I was thinking I had removed them all last year! That job has risen to the top of my 'to do' list.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone . Ante we could do with a bit of your weather. The gardens need quite a bit of attention because of the constant rain we are having. LB I love the cartoon.Sorry to read you are having more rain . Just looked out of the window ,it’s raining heavily here too.
morning all. Pouring with rain here too, we are on a yellow alert for it🙄 After the disastrous day yesterday we are popping out later to try and get a pot again and then I need to go into town and onto the SM. perhaps that will clear all the cobwebs away. Ante, onwards and upwards, only three more days until it is February and then we are nearing Spring.
Morning everyone, Not read back, hope everyone is well. We have thick fog here this morning. Can't see most of the garden. The fields and woods are completely hidden. Have a good day, take care.
LB, I had picked up about Busy’s son’s birthday from another thread. you hadn’t missed from it on here. SGL, hope you don’t need to go out anywhere whilst there’s the thick fog about. Wait until it’s lifted 🙂
That's what I said above, @Songbird-2. I hope your day goes well and you get a pot.
I really must do some serious gardening today. My compost for mulching is coming tomorrow.
My best old school friend is coming to stay on Wednesday for a few days so I won't be able to garden then. I must prepare the guest room and go to the SM too. Should have done the room yesterday instead of watching TV and playing jigsaws on the computer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
