A very good morning to you all. I was interested to hear on the news today about the giant redwood trees - native to California - that are now thriving in the UK. They can live to about 2000 years old and the ones in the UK are still relative 'babies' at about 160 years old. I'm not sure that we have to worry about this 'alien' species taking over just yet!

    Good morning @Rubee

Breezy and reasonably bright this morning though rain is forecast for later.
Met friends for tea yesterday and it was good to have a nice catch up.
Today OH and I are going to the theatre to see The Mousetrap, which I’m looking forward to. I booked it last year, and here we are - where is time going?

I hope they can do something for your OH @Rubee.

    Morning all.

I hope new dressings make your OH more comfortable @Rubee.

We'll be leaving early afternoon as it's a night crossing. I've booked a pub restaurant for dinner tonight.
I just have to check my handbag, pack up my laptop and put the suitcases in the car. I brought more than necessary as we were going to have stayed with friends.

Hello there Ruby, Red maple and Busy.
Sorry about the windy night and consequent disruption Ruby. Fingers crossed your OH is more comfortable after his visit to the hub.
Gosh Red maple, time certainly is just flying by. Enjoy your theatre visit.
Bon voyage Busy. Hope you don't forget anything. Looking forward to hearing if your garden is as bad as CB told you or if it has improved for your visit.

    Morning all.
Safe journey today Busy, hope all goes well and you enjoy your time with friends along the way.
LB, has Jack heard anymore about his daughter? Hope she can be discharged soon.
Rain has stopped here but now we have wind again but it’s mild so there’s a positive.
Going into town later as need to get a few bits and bobs for Mum so will have a browse around the shops too.
Red Maple, hope you enjoy The Mousetrap, i’d love to see that but too far away for us. a please report back when you’ve seen it!😊🙂 Safe journey.

Good morning Hazel. When I rang Jack this morning to tell him I had got his shopping for him, he told me that Jackie had got home from hospital late yesterday afternoon.
I was in the front garden tidying up when the postie arrived. We had a bit of a natter because we had just felt the first onset of drizzle. He laughed and said he had left his coat in the van because he thought it was going to stay try. I told him I was blaming him! It is now raining seriously.
I have received some pond plants that just needed to be thrown into the pond - oxygenators mainly so I had a quick scoot down the garden in the rain to put the bunches in. I am expecting another delivery, this time of Kaffir lilies, between 13:00 and 14:00. To be honest I have no idea where this morning has gone.
p.s. whilst out shopping first thing, a purply blue aubrieta and a deep pink arabis leapt into my basket.

Debs, I’ve just seen the announcement and it’s devastating. I come in here daily, part of the days routine so will miss it very much. I’m not a member of any other gardening forum but will have a look at some others now and see what they’re like.

  • I'll miss you all.
