    I’ve only ever seen Imperata rubra in its early stage and I can now appreciate how the colour stands out as it develops and why you like it @Marlorena! Another one for the list!

    And mine! Growing by the day. I've already got four of M's plants to seek out.

    I had one of those in a pot but unfortunately forgot to water it last summer so lost it. Must get another one soon.

    @Marlorena, @Perki, I am loving your Phlox and was wondering do you get them from specialist plant growers or just pick them up at GC's? I currently only have a couple (from local GC) but I find I get a lot of powdery mildew on them, do you get this at all? many thanks.

    I do like that purple phlox @Marlorena, would go much better next door to my Eglantyne rose than the current rather lurid phlox I've got.

    @Meomye I picked up most of my phlox from the garden centres except for Monica L . Bell , I do grow a few others - Nicky - franz schubert and white admiral . Quite a few will state if they are mildew resistant I am sure white admiral is. I seen Blue paradise totally defoliated from mildew but it were on a slope without good quality soil.
    Might be worth swapping to hydrangea paniculata if problems persist.

    Do you grow any clematis in the Flammula group @Marlorena like rubromarginata ? I got one called Sweet Love which I think Pitter patter has and trying some from seed . You've got quite a lot of plants I'd couldn't / struggle to grow in my wet conditions .

    @Perki
    Yes I do.. Clematis 'Aromatica'.. in the Flammula group.. it has a delicious scent.  I'll post pics of this tomorrow..

    Yes it's very dry here and a lot of my plants won't suit everywhere.. trial and error in some cases I think..
    Do you mean 'Sweet Summer Love'?  I think that's a rampant type..

    I should add, I grew Clematis flammula in Cornwall, on heavy clay.  It did almost too well on an arch, fabulous scent.. masses of flowers..
