I can just see my purple leaved cherry tree breaking into blossom this morning. Beautiful sight.

Mine's got fat buds showing colour but they aren't quite open yet. Maybe tomorrow. The forecast is for it to be mild for the next week or so.

I had my follow up appointment with the consultant 12 months after my hip replacement.  Absolutely no change from the x-ray taken 2 months after the op which is obviously good news.  He also says the implant used has a life of between 20 and 25 years which should see my out. (The 'should see me out comment is mine, not his).  He did say that having needed one hip replacement does increase the likelihood of needing the other one done but there is no sign of wear on the other hip at present.

Great stuff @KT53.   I shall have to ask my knee chappy about my 2 prosthetics' life expectancy when I see him in the autumn.  I rather expect the titanium to outlive me and have joked with Possum about how she'll cope with such big lumps in my ashes.

My wife will have a similar issue with my ashes. What's more, the vagal nerve stimulator implant will explode if I am cremated without it first being removed. I guess that's what you call going out with a bang!!🤯
I must remember to leave instructions about that, in case it gets forgotten. I've no idea quite how much of a danger it might be.
Does anyone know whether a heart pacemaker causes a similar problem?

Metal will be a problem for my missus too.  She has a rod down her tibia and several screws and pins.  I had suggested selling her for scrap as it would be cheaper than a funeral.  She didn't seem to agree with the idea.

My dark leaf Cherry Plum is in blossom too! I culled a ton of ivy that was engulfing it last year (can’t believe how tough and thick ivy can be!) so it’s looking great!
