Very frustrating, Dasha. I don't think any of the other growers use Evri. Even my Dickson Roses order arrived perfectly in under 24 hours from Northern Ireland via Royal Mail.
Well my DA order was sent back by Evri without a single delivery attempt... At this point I would rather pay more for delivery than sit here and hope my roses actually arrive
I assume DA will send them via DPD now if you get in touch with them. It is frustrating as you have to wait for both Evri and DA to sort it out.
I assume purplerallim you simply have a good local driver, a lot of places do. With Evri and the drivers being self employed it’s hard for them to actually have the ambition or discipline to learn the areas well enough or to care. That’s a generalisation but also why Evri is cheap.
My bare root order is out for delivery tomorrow with my own nemesis DPD/Seur. I’m going to have to get Guillot to fight with the courier for me since there is no customer service number for Seur (the Spanish sub) and their new centralised website refuses to believe my address is correct without an allocated house number. Not exactly uncommon - millions of country properties and farms have only names. The frustrating thing is I’m on a main road and the local guys know exactly where I am!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Have you ordered from Andre eve @Nollie They have exclusive roses but does not ship to the UK.
My DPD parcel from DA was not great either @WAMS It was torn almost all the way on one side.. I had to count my DA fertilizer packs to make sure they din't lose any..
Tack said: I can't decide whether to cut the stakes or leave them to hammer further into the ground when planted out.
@Tack - I thought the same with my standards, when I first planted them out into pots. Once the leaves came through, The stakes were not so obvious. Also they are sturdy enough and required when you think of the storms we have just gone through.
@cooldoc no, I’ve only ever browsed Andre Eve. There are a fair number of lesser-known rose breeders/nurseries in France, I nearly ordered from Paul Croix once. Problem is, it’s hard to find any reviews.
