Thanks @Marlorena, we sometimes have dinner out there if it's a nice evening but it's south-facing so can get very hot. We're also highly visible from our lane as we're much higher up on the terrace so usually just wave our glasses at the dogwalkers! We have another set just around the corner which I use for coffee in the shade.
I remember earlier this year reading the thread as all your roses came into bud and then flower and was able to work out that up here in Aberdeenshire we were roughly 1 month behind you.
Now the clocks have changed I am repeating the exercise and think I am now 1 month ahead of you - as the garden here (especially the roses) are all going to sleep. The last to still hold a flower is Zephirine Drouhin (admittedly just the 2 flowers).
So nothing to post from here as we bed down to withstand our 3rd storm of the year. Take care and stay safe.
Pleasantly surprised to return to plenty of roses still with scattered blooms. Had a short (noisy!) joint dog holiday with friends in the Têt Valley (French Pyrenees).

After a summer of defoliation and a quick trim, some now think it’s spring!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Interesting. I’ve never bought standards bareroot, what do the boxes look like, I assumed it would be a flat long box so hard to stand on its head so to speak.
Sorry I didn't get a better picture, badgerwatch- it was a shallow flat long box, of soft cardboard, so rather dented, but the length and strength of the stakes kindly included helped keep the standards, which were tied to the stakes and to one another, from being bashed about. This is three standards together, upside-down but completely fine.
They seem all right- here unpacked and soaking in my messy unfinished projects area! Harlow Carr standard to the left seems the biggest, Olivia in the middle is markedly shorter but since she will be kept in a pot, that's perfect; Golden Celebration on the right. As well as the stakes (left), they included two thick black rubber ties per standard, which is good of them. The 15% off GARDEN23 discount works on standards, too.
Talking of Standards, I read today that 'Boscobel', which is currently out of stock, will no longer be offered in Standard form.. so if anyone is wanting one of these, they will have to look elsewhere.
I'm jealous @WAMS. How long is the stem on HC? I am trying to work out where it could go and I have bad FOMO because of the rumours DA will stop standards and the discount right now
No pictures I am afraid but just ordered a bare root rose to pot up for Christmas to give to my wife. She has mentioned a couple of times this year how much she likes Black Baccara but we have not seen it when out and about and living in Ireland we cannot order from UK and EU postage is pretty steep. By chance I was browsing online today and found a place in Dublin selling them so I jumped at it. Being a gift I hope it’s a decent specimen 🤞

DA standards arrived... upside-down, but thankfully OK. In fairness to DPD, there was *nothing* on the box to indicate which way up it should be.
Ebb Tide looks so good for everyone else. It almost hurts my heart. Why did mine have to decide to dwindle away to nothing? I loved that rose.🎻

Maybe this supports the idea that DA are starting to pull their standards
