Missed most of the rain due to work, but there is plenty more still.

I wonder if the offsprings of Absolutely fabulous are as floriferous as the parent. I think Tack or Eustace had Faustinia here.. I believe most of Week's roses are cross bred with Ab-fab..

Edit; the second Ghislaine pic is awesome @Fire

    @cooldoc I don't have Faustinia; probably @Tack has it.

I was away for a few days; during that time, the rain has been good for the potted roses. Most of them are shedding their leaves due to the drop in temperature. Some have new tender growth. A huge repotting task awaits me this winter :( I'm planning to do that during the Christmas holidays.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

That's gotta to be one of the prettiest yellow roses, Tack!

All things considered, I am most looking forward to Abraham Darby, Archiduc Joseph, Fond Farewell and Vintage Classic/Queen of Elegance. I like pink roses and I cannot lie...

Shape and colour looks nice @Tack I just could not believe that Ab-fab is just producing blooms despite the neglect.. I remember it was Marlorena's pic that swayed me to buy it..

Good luck WAMS.. thankfully, I have only my DA coming in today and have a few spare pots from last season..

At long last, I can join you all - I received my DA email this morning.  2 x Royal Jubilee and a Summer Song are on there way.

As you will no doubt have heard, the weather here has been atrocious and it is still continuing with high winds and downpours.  Yesterday we had about 70mm of rain!

Thankfully I had prepared and the garden - though ruffled - has come through relatively unscathed (touch wood).

Edit: The dahlias had taken the worst of it all - I had lifted all but 4, so they have been taken up.  All of them had their stems snapped.  But that is them all up, all 29 of them - never again will I plant so many!  Next year I think my neighbours and friends will be getting the surplus!

Nice selection WAMS, I had a look on HMF. Look forward especially to seeing how you get on with Fond Farewell and A Joseph. I think I'm realising that I like pink, mauve and purple roses most so should stick with those, Bathsheba is the exception, just love that.  I do have Roald Dahl coming as bare root but I am not especially excited about that one.
It was Nollie's Julia Child/AF pics that swayed me way back as a newbie Cooldoc. You'd love the Faustinia scent I'm sure.
Glad you are ok in the truly ghastly storm Peter
My Purple Lodge has been reluctant in the second half of the season too Nollie. I was going to give it an in ground spot but maybe I'll pot it into a bigger pot and see how it goes for another season.
  • Supplemental:  The winds have toppled the obelisks that were holding Lady of Shalott and The Poet's Wife.

Can I prune them down now (I know roses are tough and resilient) and bed the obelisks in deeper or should I wait till spring before pruning?  I'd rather not snap anything whilst carrying out remedial works in case I do un-necessary damage.

Thanks, in advance, for your thoughts.
