Really busy few days so just catching up. @Nollie that is a fabulous photo! The height of the trees and the starkness of the branches are very powerful. And I love the sunset, the backlit tree and, of course, the aquarium.
I also have a tree for you. A huge mighty holly tree.
A historical note - this is on the edge of a WWII bomb crater. The forest is full of them as it's one of the places the Germans were launching V1 rockets from. This particular part of the forest is pock marked with craters where the Americans carpet bombed the site, and is also littered with concrete tracks and bunkers from the VI installation itself.
And on the edge of this crater, a little holly of the future.
Why thank you Liz, from you that’s praise indeed! Trees offer plenty of dramatic potential and the war-scarred landscape you describe sounds very poignant. There are lots of abandoned and ghostly plantations of planes around here, remnants of the old paper industry.

I don't know exactly why, @fire, but your fabulous low sun and trees photo reminds me of the original version of the film 'The Wicker Man'! Do you know what I mean? Is your photo set in Scotland? It looks so wild!

@clematisdorset I don't have a greenhouse; honestly, I don't know many people who do. Polytunnels are much more popular, but even then, not many people have them unless they're "homesteading" or running a business, at least in this corner of the US.

Oh I did not know, @CrankyYankee! There has been a bit of a fashion in the UK for making small greenhouses out of 'found objects', eg wood, old window panels from houses etc. Beyond my abilities to do that, but good fun I am sure. Those Victorian era conservatories are just magnificent though - I always feel a bit sad whenever one gets torn down. Absolutely wonderfully crafted.

My dream is to have a small greenhouse built off the front of my house, where I have a set of French doors. I could take advantage of the passive solar heat in the winter, and grow some vegetables year-round. I agree about the Victorian era conservatories - absolutely stunning!

Don't dismiss the idea of building a greenhouse from old windows. I've just done it, with some help, and it wasn't as hard as I'd feared. So much nicer than a polytunnel!
