One could knock up some very nice seasonal (or otherwise) cards with the engraving setting on Lunapic, if that's your bag. I think the black and white style would come out well on card on a home printer (unlike most real life colour photos). The engraving setting seems to do best with very simple outlines, high contrast against a very light background. Or at least, that would be a safe bet. It does seem that no matter how many times I upload the same photo it gives the same result, so there isn't a random, changing element to how the algorhythm treats the picture.
#wasting hours fiddling around with engraving settings so you don't have to
In my own
art work with pencils, I find now that hours of photo editing is
changing the way I compose a physical piece and rework it. I think I'm getting a bit more thorough and precise - learning more possibilities from radical online tools.
I'll meet you on that little sandy beach, top left. Looks like there are some hills rising behind that might be fun to explore, followed by a dip in the blue, blue water
Btw, I did try printing out the Lunapic 'engraved' images and they did work well on a home printer. I think the simple 'pencil' setting would work well too for printing at home.
