Going into winter: fern frost. I can totally see why there was a legend of some mad, wild weather-artist creating pictures in the night. Even now, how many of us can give an explanation for the geometric precision (without looking it up)? Not me.
Velux windows are like car windscreens, in that they are good to shoot frost pictures as the moisture gathers and stays. Plus you can get backlighting.

Then this is in fact upside down, but because that's how I shoot very low down (my tripod had a central pole that lets the camera hang upside down to the floor, so to speak) this is how it looked when I first uploaded it.
@Plantminded do your miscanthus flowers curl in the heat of the day then straighten out in the cool of the night? Mine do, and I think it's fascinating.
