It's a decent morning here. Off for another round of golf shortly - very soon I reckon I'll be able to claim to have won tournaments, shot scores lower than the professionals and got several holes in one. Just like Donald Β Β
Good morning Ante and Biglad. Ante, fingers are crossed here for you that you get the rain otherwise you will be having a 4 hour watering session later!
Ahh but @Biglad will you attempt a similar mugshot to Donald - I try to avoid all newsprint but when I visited Jack yesterday he had a newspaper on his sofa with aforementioned person's pic on the front.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning everyone, Looks like it could be a nice day.....sunshine and blue skies at the moment π€« We could have chatted @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 Rosie, I couldn't sleep again last night. Was still wide awake at 4.30. Have the poppets and their mummy and daddy coming today.Β @Ladybird4 enjoy your day with your family. @Biglad enjoy your round of golf. Try and stay out of the rough and the bunkers. With you be going in the 19th π @Ante1 I'll join you in a cup of tea too βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ Hope everyone has a lovely day.
Good morning SGL. You will enjoy the company of the poppets and their parents today. Maybe you might get in a walk to the duck pond? Whatever evolves, you have a lovely day.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thank you @Ladybird4 I'm looking forward to seeing them all. I'm sure a walk to the duck pond will be one of the things the poppets will want to do ππ€£Β
Good morning everyone, we have a bright, sunny start at the moment with a light breeze. I hope it stay fine. Popping out to coffee morning group shortly then when I get back I think we might go out somewhere nearby just to have a change of scene. Enjoy your golf @Biglad. @Ladybird4 I hope you have a good visit with your family. I hope you get plenty done at your cottage this afternoon @Ante1.
Morning all. Autumn is definitely on its way, it's pretty cool in the house today compared to earlier days. Might have to dig out the winter dressing gown soon. @star gaze lily, I do hope you have a lovely day with the poppets. Our poppet wore us out yesterday but at least I slept okay last night. A walk and some fresh air and some down time will hopefully do you good. My brain is on overdrive at the moment with ' things' and it can be very emotionally draining and tiring.Β @Ante1, enjoy the time before the pupils start arriving and don't overdo it. You will need your energy levels at maximum. @Red maple, hope you enjoy the coffee morning, it will be good to get out and about and have a chat with friends. @Ladybird4, be careful on the M6 today( we'll be there tomorrow) , hope it's not too busy. When we went to pick 23 up yesterday, we noticed there was a huge tail back of traffic on the other side so we found an alternative route back home. Checked the traffic announcements and discovered there had been a car fire and they had closed down one lane. There was an estimated 40 minute wait. Glad we went the other way. Anyway, have a good lunch out with handy brother and catch up.Β @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1, Rosie, hope you can catch up with a sleep today. The Almanac sounds interesting reading.
Morning all. A sunny start but there is a definite nip in the air. OH has gone flying for the day and I have a long list of jobs to tackle but, after a very disturbed night and little sleep, we'll have to see how many actually get done.Β
SGL - enjoy your family time today.
You too LB - a pub lunch sounds goodπ
Ante - thank you for thinking of us and our holiday. It would be lovely to receive some tips from you, but you must not worry if you don't have time to do it. I know you are very busy with school, harvest and your sister's visit. If the weather is kind we'll be very happy just messing about in and on the water and cycling for a few days. Good to hear it is cooling down for you. 38C is too hot for working.
We leave early Saturday to catch the ferry to the Hook of Holland and then on Saturday evening we'll drive to Dusseldorf. On Sunday we have tickets for a huge motorhome / caravan show. The biggest one in Europe, possibly in the world - some people go for several days because there is so much to see.
We're hoping we might (at long last) get to see the actual model of camper van we have ordered (we've seen several others from the same range in German showrooms - but not the actual model).
We also hope there will be a special type of bike carrier on display. It is fixed to the chassis of the van and pivots out of the way so you can open the rear barn doors with the bikes still attached. Much lower for lifting bikes onto than those door mounted types you often see - not a chance of me being able to use one of those! You can get the pivot ones installed in this country but nobody has one on display. Too big a committment to buy without trying, but we will need something like that for the new van so it will be good to see the different models available. Ours will be a very targetted visit to the show as we will only have a few hours there.
Will probably reach Croatia by Tuesday evening - but a lot will depend on what the weather is doing and how we feel - it's a long way to drive!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I hope you have a lovely holiday @Topbird and get to see the right campervan.
It rained this morning. Now that it's cooler I can get on with painting the landing again. The ceiling needs a second coat. Really don't feel like it, makes my arm ache, but needs must.
Tonight I'm babysitting overnight for Son 2. His wife is taking him to a lovely hotel by a river for the night.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
