It seems to me @AnniD that Craig is the most objective judge when it comes to critiquing style, performance and choreography.  I expect the other 3, all ballroom dancers, to pick up on toe and heel leads as well as posture and head position.

  • I'm sure at one point they were booing Craig when he was making complementary remarks, typical mob mentality.

Gosh, it was a long show tonight. Even though l fast forwarded through large chunks of it, it still seemed to go on forever.

I'm glad Anton is sitting next to Shirley and can take the sting out of some of her remarks.
So much went on l can't recall it all, but l'm pretty sure Les Dennis will be the first to go.

Some of the music choices were dreadful but gave Dave Arch the chance to harness his inner rock god again .
Poor Angela Rippon looked dreadfully frumpy, l enjoyed Nigel Harman's performance,"Single ladies" was ridiculously fast and l'm still not sure exactly what Karen Hauer and partner (forgotten his name) were actually dancing.

Finally, 4 9s in week 2 ? Yes, it was very good and extremely slick, but all 4 judges giving the same high score so early on ?

I thought some of the marking was off and, once again, Shirley was inconsistent.  It's fine to be picky about technique but she needs to do it to everyone and not just one or two.

We FF all the filler stuff now and just watch the dances and the judging.   No stand out performances for me except that OH found Les Dennis' samba so embarrassing he left the room!   That's a first.   LD will have to go.

  • I agree @Obelixx Shirley obviously has her favourites again already.
Didn't understand some of the markings.

Thought it unfair to complain to Eddie about the choreography, it's Karen that does that.
And although the lifts with Giovanni and Amanda were amazing, especially for week 2, the one with her upside down and legs spread eagled.......😳🙈
Yes think it's Les that will be going.

If former years are anything to go by, Les might not be going... think Ann Widdecombe...   :#

I didn't think Angela Rippon looked frumpy.  There's always a danger of a 78-year-old looking like "mutton dressed up as lamb", which she didn't - and I wish I could dance half as well as she can.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • I didn't think Angela Rippon looked frumpy either. Hopefully she'll get some lovely dresses for ballroom dances.

    She's amazingly supple.

I don't start watching until about programme 5 in an attempt to miss the real dross.  I do think Craig is too harsh with his comments at times, particularly with those who have no dance experience.  That said, they will learn far more from somebody being critical than you will from somebody who says, wrongly, how wonderful you were.  I also like the fact that Craig will use low scores as that does leave room for meaningful improvement and giving credit for that improvement.

He's not funny or self mocking like Anne W @Liriodendron, just excruciating, but maybe that will keep him in altho I don't think he looks like he's enjoying the process at all and that shows in his dancing.   All the rest look happy to be there and seem to be loving it.
