Hello all, overcast and windy today but not cold, a good drying day for the washing. I hope your two are more appreciative of your home grown courgettes than my OH was @Dovefromabove, we had our first ones a couple of days ago, I asked OH after he had eaten them whether he enjoyed them, he looked at me rather strangely and said " well I did notice they were yellow and not green" end of!

Well I have to say those cinnamon swirls were very acceptable … not too sugary, not too cinnamony … we all liked them … and Wonky’s Lovely Hub pronounced them just what he needed to fuel some furniture moving.

Bless them, they’ve done everything .., moved the bed etc … made up the bed, put his clothes and books etc in the wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookcase etc. , and his get well letter from Chelsea FC is framed and hanging on the wall. He’s gone upstairs for a snooze after his early start.

Afternoon all, I just love cinnamon swirls @Dovefromabove, they're my favourite apart from the iced ones in M &S. My coffee treat when I'm in town.

I've managed to pick the gooseberries and OH has kindly deadheaded the climbing roses for me. Looks a lot tidier now. The dwarf French beans are starting to produce pods so the recent rain has helped.  It's dry but very windy out there.

The situation in France is quite worrying, hope all the posters who live there are being careful and keeping away from the hotspots. Has anybody heard from DD lately?

  • Morning all.  🐇

It has rained again. The butts were already full.

We are going to look at some village gardens open today.
Not had enough rain even to fill a teaspoon here!! The garden is still running on grey water.

We didn't see the village gardens after all. They were on the village garden website for Suffolk. It was a town, not a village and there were no signs at all or publicity. We went to a small GC a bit hidden away as the website said you could buy tickets there. They wouldn't tell us where the gardens were until we bought the tickets, the map was on the tickets. Then they said only 3 were open today but they wouldn't tell us which three or if they were the ones with loos or serving teas. So we didn't buy tickets, we changed our minds and did Plan B instead.

Plan B was to visit Fuller's Mill Garden near Bury St. Edmunds. It's an RHS partner garden and a member of "Perennial". We had seen it twice a few years ago, in spring and autumn. It was lovely and we had hot chocolate and cake as well. OH managed it all without his buggy. I will post some photos.

On the way back we stopped at our favourite community pub as they were having a beer festival. Serving different beers from barrels in 1/3 pint glasses. There were several street food vendors and a band. We didn't have food.

My thanks to @Dovefromabove for once again starting us off on our July journey - those cinnamon pastries look scrummy.
Not posted much in the past week as feeling a bit down and depressed - must give myself a good talking too. However have been mooching around a bit in the garden watering and general clipping and trimming etc. But this water lark does take some time, it would normally be half and hour or so to water all the pots in the back garden under normal circumstances but I can only spend some ten minutes before I then need another ten minutes sitting down to rest before my legs give way or threaten to. So I'm up and down like a yoyo! Daughter has suggested placing all our outside chairs in regular intervals around the pots so I can either sit down when needed or even water some of the plants sitting down. Will give it some thought - so frustrating.
Had another blood test last Thursday, told the nurse that I was going to have to start charging if they kept pinching my blood. Now hopefully awaiting results and maybe answers at last.
Sending hugs and healing thoughts to all those in need at the moment. Have a peaceful Sunday folks.
