They are still chatting away merrily so this is not on old threads and I can see no trace of them at all except when their name is mentioned in replies. If that didn't happen I wouldn't even know they were on the thread.
Since returning I have looked back over old threads and come across all sorts of examples of goneness! Account deleted but leaving traces, account vanished altogether, go away your not allowed to see this person's archives...
Imagine being this nosey and not being able to see everything! It's an outrage!  :D

Yes there’s been a recent trend to folk keeping their profile private. In many cases that’s a huge shame as it makes it so difficult to find some piece of gardening wisdom you may remember them dispensing in the past. 😞

Hello @plant pauper  I remember you from years ago so Welcome back  :):)

Re the "disappearances", you can opt to have any threads you started and all your posts removed but still remain a forum member.  You can still see references to the person where they have received replies.  Or at least that was the case a couple of years back but there have been several changes since then.

After a person requests their content to be removed , Isn't there usually a note that says something to the effect that person's posts have been removed

No idea.  I don't recall seeing one when I did it which was early 2021.

    Hi @philippasmith2. Hi @Perki
Yes @B3 some do have that but some are just goner than a gone thing! I've messaged the GW team so maybe they'll come up with something.

@plant pauper are you still sending your little niece in the depths of your pond? 😀

Oh my word @Lyn! The little niece is no longer little...well she is but she's older so she should have more sense. 🤣 I'll bet if I asked her she would though.
She has her own house now and is beleaguered by home-owner trials and tribulations like rats in the kitchen (well one) and rising damp a leaky washing machine!
I was amazed that you remembered but then I remembered the pictures! 🤣🤣🤣
