There’s more than one sort of bullying … but bullies only have power if you give it to them. Take no notice and they’ve lost their raison d’être. 😉
The definition of a forum is a place to debate and discuss … as long as it’s done with good humoured good manners all is well … what should be remembered is that this forum is part of a commercial enterprise … it is in not in Immediate Media’s interest if new members are discouraged.
Gardening is tough enough as it is, and there are enough places out there that seem like closed shops to newcomers … hopefully this forum won’t become one of them 😊

Sometimes a break from the forum is needed, GreenMan.🥂
This place can be ridiculous and the mods are going to haemorrhage users if they allow that kind of behaviour- group flagging just to make someone's opinion disappear!- as well as tolerating that dreary troll. His posts are invisible to me, but I can still see his sockpuppet account agreeing with him.
I read the original post by @TheGreenMan , and could see nothing to warrant any flagging. I have seen far, far worse on this forum.
I would be interested to see if any of the "flaggers" have the courage of their convictions to come on here and say exactly what it was about that post that led them to flag it to the mods. I have no intention of entering into a slanging match (or a heated debate, depending on your point of view), but l am genuinely interested.
The best thing to do is rise above it and keep posting @TheGreenMan, but that's easy for me to say, l know.
Why are flaggers' ids hidden when 'likes' are not?
Maybe the solution is to have three flags...like,dislike and report (where report is moderator reviewed - ie renamed 'flag') OR to make like a number from 1 to 10 that ranges from like to dislike.
Sometimes it's best just to ignore the bullies and unpleasant people @TheGreenMan and carry on doing what suits you and your garden best.
I saw your post before it was deleted and have to say I don't know anyone who can feed themselves and their family from their plot so GW needs to concentrate on showing peole what is worth trying and not lay on guilt for not having the space, time, resources or knowledge to grow more edibles. EG, we have a large veg plot but I still restrict myself to things that I know grow well in my soil and climate. I used to try something new each year to see what happens but melons, cucamelons, asparagus peas, any peas, proved to be more bovver than results warranted.
We don't eat many potatoes but I no longer try growing them here as it's too hot and dry. Ditto beans and sweetcorn - too dry. Our soil in the veg plot is good and we lay on loads of mulch but it's not enough to combat the heatwaves and drought of the last couple of years.
Sweet potatoes did well one year - above ground - but only one produced edible tubers and that took a lot of water. The other two had been drilled by worms or slugs or some such and had rotted. Salads are fine early and late in the growing year but fry in summer.
Tomatoes and brassicas do well and I can grow enough tomatoes for eating fresh as well as drying and bottling so I need to buy maybe a dozen tins a year. I can grow enough garlic for a year but not onions. Shallots grew small so I haven't done them this year.
Soft fruits do well and I've planted apples, pears, apricots, nectarines, peaches and a pomegranate but OH eats an apple and a pear every day and I won't be able to produce and store enough for that. Pumpkins tend to grow small but courgettes and cucumbers can be prolific to the point of ennui.
Just keep on trucking @TheGreenMan and ignore the eejits.

@TheGreenMan I hope you're feeling less cornered now. Sounds like a perfectly sensible point of view to me
