Coincidence. On Wed 21st June I visited a garden in Perthshire. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw a magnificent multistemmed Stewartia rostrata. Wow! It was just full of buds. Sadly only one flowers was open. In a day or 2 it will look amazing.
It was in full sun, in a corner next to a wall and very sheltered.
Yet again , some stunning photos ; thankyou @Silver surfer ! Your pics , coupled with those of @Marlorena are far superior to most plant catalogues ; (plants of interest too).
Incidentally , an ex-GP friend of mine re-visited Jersey Cottage recently and brought
two more plants back ; Reineckia yunnanensis and Anemonopsis macrophylla .
Swines Meadow Nursery is a great place … situated in the village between my OHs mum and @nutcutlet’s lovely garden … we just have to go past it when visiting 🫣 I’ve had some great plants from them, including MH favourite Hosta ‘June Fever’. 😊 and they host plant fairs there where there are other suppliers too.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
