  • We were just saying yesterday,  we are still using the last of the tomatoes.  OK these had to be ripened indoors but amazing to be using our own fresh tomatoes in December!

    Cooked these tromboncino courgettes today; they were harvested last week from plants grown outside.

    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • @Lyn Amazing! How do you get toms this size this time off year?
  • @bertrand-mabel I have the pleasure of knowing Lyn and can confirm she has some of the greenest fingers on this Forum.  By this time of year, I've almost forgotten what proper toms look like so it's lovely to see those.

    @phiippa thank you.
    It’s just a matter of timing.  They were sown at the start of June,   Purely an accident and an experiment at the time.  My pet snails enjoyed a tomato supper and a couple of days later the seeds  germinated.  I potted them up and on and grew them under glass.
    I have no green ones at all.  I will do that again next year.
    Seeds are still germinating in the tank, I’ll try potting up a few in January.
