Garlic Flowers, great in stirfries or anywhere where you want a mild taste of garlic. This is half of the ones I will get, from the garlic I planted in October. The plants planted in January have not flowered yet.
Well, here they are, my first ever home grown potatoes!
Would have loved a higher yield but it's my first go and I can't expect miracles! Shame it's such an awfully expensive way of getting potatoes 😬
As I grew them in bags, what should I do with the spent compost? I'm about to sow some carrots, would it be suitable for them? I used potato fertiliser but I assume that's all been used up.
Harvested some more red currants ahead of the blackbirds! And then went in search of cherries. Birds have had all the "eating" ones but managed to get some Morellos. These will be bottled and used later in the year.
I picked a couple of courgettes today. No photos, but there looks like I'll get plenty. No idea what I'll do with them, other than the courgetti thing for daughter.
All I use them for is grated in cakes, don’t like them to eat in dishes.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
