Shirley Temple is about to burst into song, it’s having to contend with a large fat pigeon that’s taken up residence in the garden. I caught the pigeon perched right in the middle of the bush nibbling the tiny buds off🤬
Coral Sunset - only two flowers. It’s very similar to Coral Charm but in miniature form, the foliage is much more delicate, I think I am going to prefer this in the long term.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
My 'Pink Hawaiian Coral ' peonies have opened. These pictures were taken today evening, probably was open during day time with the sun shining on them. I do not know the names/variants of these irises. First one is probably iris pseudacorus and the second one could be a bog standard dutch iris.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
What beautiful flowers! Here's the iris that was supposed to be a Tulip bulb 😀, no beard. Any ideas? I am not going to bother with tulips anymore. Irises from now on. The colour of the petunias just a coincidence!
Does anyone know what might cause an iris stem to not reach full height? This 'Butter and Sugar' Siberian iris has had 2 blooms so far, and both have been on extremely short stems, opening only about 4-6" from the ground and far below the tops of the leaves. It didn't bloom at all last year so this at least is an improvement!
A stunning beauty @halling check out 'Duchesse de Nemours', that's what I think you have..
I can't help with i.d.ing Irises above, or faults though, hope someone else can, maybe..
I've just noticed some photos earlier that weren't showing when I posted.. I see Bright Star has a Duchesse de Nemours, perhaps she could confirm.. @Bright star
Gorgeous Coral peonies !.. I do hope mine opens tomorrow..
My newish peony 'Peche' has just opened! Wish the one in the front garden, Bowl of Beauty would hurry up. I watered both these yesterday which I think has helped we're into our 5th week of no rain and it's been hot.
