@SYinUSA thank you as I didn't have a clue! I swap Iris all the time and I loose track of what I have. @Marlorena, it's a new Iris to me and I'm trying to move away from brighter purple to more muted tones
I wish I could grow bearded irises, but I like to plant things quite densely and I don’t think they would enjoy that. I have two types of Dutch irises which have proved quite perennial. They flower about a month apart, so I get to enjoy them for longer. This one, Black Beauty, is just opening.
..that's a striking colour and so well photographed.. you've really captured the detail.. it's coincidental, but I was just looking at Dutch Iris as I've never grown them before. 'Red Ember' in particular..
https://historiciris.org/gallery/ is an excellent resource for iris identification. There are filters on the left hand side to narrow your search results as needed. At a quick glance, 'Acropole' seems like a good match for the lavender one.
..that red peony is rather a classic isn't it.. I see it in all sorts of gardens, and I used to have it too elsewhere..
@SYinUSA I've bookmarked that Iris resource, thank you.. however I will say that I think it must be U.S. orientated because the 2 Irises I have here are not listed.. and there are a number that I know of that are also missing, that are sold here.. so, just as a caution to anyone researching.. Otherwise, very useful and plenty of nice pics.
You have two lovely ones Andrew.. I do like the lavender..

..the flowers on Iris pallida 'Argentea variegata'. are not especially beautiful, it's more for the foliage, but I like it when they appear..
