Mumma kangaroo and junior are lazing on the slope behind the house this morning- in sun but sheltered from the wind. They were a bit worried when Hubby went out to the trailer for firewood but settled down again when he came in.
Hubby set up a camera last night to try to see what has been attacking our endangered skinks. His little movie camera has exposed a rat! . He has set up a rat trap with peanut butter in it. We’ll see if we catch it or if we need to do something more drastic, such as poison, but that’ll be a last resort. 😳. We’d rather not, but let’s see.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ oh dear @Pat E … you don’t want a rat (or more likely rats) around the place. Hope you get him/them. Peanut butter is good … chocolate too … apparently.
I’ve been woken early by the dawn chorous … we have some very loud blackbirds around here 😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yes, Dove. I’m annoyed that we haven’t discovered it earlier . Pixel spends a lot of time looking through that window, but I was too thick to wake up. 🤬
Had a lovely day with Charlie yesterday (and yes we took our time climbing up and down the waterfall )
Quite astonishing, the noise, the power and even the amount of splash created even as far back as we were. Someone has taken a great deal of time planting the banks of it with some lovely trees, shrubs and wild flowers which have all spread beautifully. Lovely village too with lots of artisans creating things in the narrow streets outside their little shops.
We ended the day with a lovely meal in a very modern restaurant overlooking the falls. I was astonished it had ever got planning permission, lovely as it was it certainly didn't fit in with the quaint village. Turns out it was owned (and built) by the previous mairie who had been the mairie of he village for about 40 years, so that explained that.

Yes, we have rain. Light, penetrating rain. Ahhhh! It is music to my ears even though I come from NZ.
@Pat E I would have thought even the smell of a cat around the place would deter rodents. I hope Pixel can stalk around and get rid of them. (They do come in pairs you know!!)
I do hope the weather is clement for your little "naughty weekend" away @Dovefromabove !!
@Lizzie27 The vegetable garden is tidy for now but the weeds will pop up as per usual. I'll take another photo around July but I try and keep on top of the weeds - cool stuff like bindweed and couch, and other travelling green bits!!
Plenty to do inside today (unfortunately). My hip is still painful despite taking anti-inflammatories. X-rays will be taken this week. Surgeon next month.
Morning all. Looks like another sunny warm day here today and for the coming week if the weather forecast is to be believed. Been sitting outside with my morning cuppa watching the swallows swooping in and out of our domed shed. Think their first clutch of babies must have fledged as they are so very busy. Have a lovely Sunday folks.

Have an enjoyable Sunday whatever the weather.
It's raining. Doesn't look like a gardening day.
Have a lovely Sunday folks.
