Does anybody know what this is?! Noticed this morning in one of my raised beds

    I should have spotted that too..
    I've got lots in the garden. They self seed well and I now have several patches of them of blue, pink and white.
    Lovely plants but be aware that the milky sap can be a skin irritant, so be a bit careful when deadheading them.

    There was no red to the stems which made me think it wasn't Knotweed. Tried but couldn't find out what it was, good to see a favourable result. They do set seed.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    @nutcutlet You are a star! Like others I have been studying these photos.

    A friend in HPS  collected them and planted at the Wollaton Garden. Not a plant I have grown but one I should have taken more interestt in. 
    I agree.
    I know and grow it,  but didn't recognise the young stem or leaves.

    Platycodon grandiflorus....common name  Balloon Flower.
    In Campanulaceae







    Flowers can also be pink or white
