Hi folks, Sorry to hear about everyone's tummy troubles. I get IBS regularly and find a combination of Wind eze and Buscopan work for me, especially if I treat it early. Never found out the cause but suspect it's a mixture diet and stress. Glad your son is gradually improving @Dovefromabove you must be exhausted. Congrats @chicky that camelia looks lovely. I've been busy in the garden over the last couple of days. It's looking much better now, just contemplating going out to mow the lawns.
Morning all, cloudy and grey here much to my disappointment so waiting to see if it gets any warmer. OH has walked down for the Sunday paper. Son has had a good night.
Glad to hear you feel slightly better @Busy-Lizzie, rather worrying though. I must admit we must be very lucky with our surgery as we can still phone in most times and make an online appointment for a telephone consultation. Admittedly that was a 3 week wait but it wasn't urgent so I didn't mind. The GP I spoke to then arranged a face to face appointment there and then within 2 weeks. OH has also had no difficulty in phoning and arranging for blood tests. Shame it's not the same all round the country.
Found a very poorly Greenfinch under the bird feeder with that awful disease they've got so put gloves on, picked it up and put it in another part of the garden. Doubt whether it survived the night. Such a beautiful small bird.
Sounds as though Rob is making great progress @Dovefromabove, especially if he's now well enough to travel, you'll be able to take him out for trips perhaps soon or is he terribly self-conscious about his burns?
We've invited our friend who was recently widowed around for dinner tonight so we'll open a nice bottle of red and reminisce. Going to be a trifle awkward perhaps as it's the first time he's been round.
Thanks @Lizzie27 😊 Thankfully, although his poor face looked awful to start with, especially his nose and ears, his face is now virtually unmarked and he looks pretty much as he does in the photo on the GoFundMe page.
The burns are mainly on the back of his head, his back, shoulders, arms and hands … with the arms and hands being the worst, but even they are healing well thanks to the amazing grafting done at Broomfield 💙
The biggest difficulties he has are learning to walk again … he is still very weak … and his feet are still a bit swollen so he can’t wear shoes quite yet, and manipulating things with his hands … but that is getting better day he day. 😎

That's really good news about his face @Dovefromabove, I thought he would have had scars. I hope he gets full use of his hands back so that he can play the guitar.
I've been feeling better as the day has gone on, but tired, pain is tiring. The pain now is only when the area is pressed. Spasms have gone.
We went to a local plant sale this afternoon at Redgrave and Lopham Fen, a nature reserve. OH bought me a Dicentra Bacchanal and 2 pots of honey and I bought a bagful of paperback books, proceeds for a wildlife charity. The Hosta stall was the same one that I bought hosta's from when I went to @didyw's plant fair in Bungay. I bought hostas then, but not today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good evening all, we spent most of the day in the garden, although it was cloudy all day it was pleasantly warm as the wind has dropped at last. Hope all those with ills are OK and recover soon.
after yesterday's Amelanchier drama (Problem solving and Wildlife Gardening threads) I am going to concentrate on taking some donated stuff to the recipient for a charity carboot. Then I have a lot of housework to do.
Good to hear that you are a bit better @Busy-Lizzie @Dovefromabove thanks to your care and the hospital's of course he will be playing the guitar I am sure. Let's hope very soon. Meanwhile as I said before take good care of yourself Dove.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Thanks folks for all your kind thoughts. 🙏. I’m fine 😊 A gentle outing is planned for today, taking son to visit his colleagues at the office … we also need to buy some milk, but that’s it for today. 😊

I’m waiting for Hubby to come home. There was a motor vehicle accident somewhere in our district and the call came out for assistance from Fire Brigade volunteers to help. He’s been gone for 2and half hours, so I was starting to stew, but he just rang to say they are on their way back. I’ll be glad to find out the details.
