@WAMS, I was also very tempted to buy Marchenzauber when I had bought roses from TCL. For Jubilee Celebration, yes support it. I either support or cut the flowers for vase. They droop too much without support.
@Nollie, Soul flower is so beautiful. I am looking forward to your Ghislaine de feligonde standard to flower.
And big warm welcome to all new posters in this thread. Looking forward to lots of posts and photos from your garden.
@Nollie your blush noisette is beautiful, lovely shape and full of blooms. Thank you for the bloom comparison, you can really see the differences in colour and size this way. You’ve inspired me to try the same at some point!
What a difference a day makes - bridge of sighs is looking better and better
I fear my poor Soul will take a battering as we are due heavy rain anytime now and for a few days @newbie77. It has got more rain resistant over time, but still not the best in that way.
Bridge of Sighs looks fantastic @agnasia, especially the way you’ve trained it around the corner. I do like doing those bloom comparisons, also documenting the same rose in it’s various bloom stages and iterations. Geek overload, OH keeps telling me I should get a life 😆
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Thanks to @Marlorena and @ElbFee for your recommendations on when to feed my roses. I have always done the granular rose food in March and after first bloom but have never been clear on liquid feed in between (particularly in pots), so perhaps I will have healthier specimens this year.
And the winner is...... Celebration The first blooms are this really buttery yellow, but subsequent ones start yellow but fade to cream. I quite like the change in colour meaning different shades on one bush.
Close second is Desdemona, it will finish opening today as we have hot sun.
The Blue for You is behind, if you look closely there is one small flower middle left of bush. As for geeking @Nollie mine kicked in with this bush, wondered how many sprays of blooms waiting to open .....35 yes I counted. 😊
No Roses yet and I am anxiously waiting for roses. I have only got couple of Clematis and Wisteria.
@Nollie lovely Blush Noisette. Are you intending to grow as a shrub? Looking forward to your Ghislaine stand flowers. I am more inclining towards standard now as I have none.
All 3 blooms are looking fabulous. The Prince looking darker than Munstead Wood. Is that so?!
@Nollie thank you! I wasn’t intending for it to go in both directions, as that brick wall is the exterior of a neighbour’s house, but the rose gave me no choice. I was able to put wires from our fence across to the shed and it seems happy enough. The black spot is certainly not holding it back!
Ooh I love the idea of stages of a bloom, not seen that before. My husband has his own geeky interests so he can’t really say anything to me, although I do get a few eye rolls!
@purplerallim your blue for you is going to be spectacular! Looking forward to all of those buds opening.
Congratulations to Celebration @purplerallim. Glad I’m not alone, a bit of geekiness is perfectly acceptable here, I reckon 😉
@Rojas, I’m hoping BN will grow into a tall shrub, with a bit of support if needed. Re MW/TP, the darkest depends on the weather. They are both changeable, colour-wise, although I get more dark burgundy tones on MW and more purple notes on TP.

Any opinions on England’s Rose? I have a space where I think it would fit well, but wanted your views. Anything similar that you think would be better?
Thanks

"Kathryn" rose says "Hi, Dad!" to purplerallim's "Blue for You," its pollen parent according to RV Roger. No scent sadly though...
Desdemona is looking so pretty in all these pictures!
Thanks
