    @Wynken thanks. A fair selection on there. Some, like Constant Spry though are usually £38! I have seen they have Fruity Parfuma. Does anyone have this and could comment on what it is like?

    @Mr. Vine Eye - I am quite impatient at times and did the same as you! I need to get see through pots to convince myself I don't need to pull them out  :D

    @Alfie_i bought it and potted it on to a bigger pot on about 11/4. I used the recommended mix from these lovely rose ( forum ) posters and have been watching daily for some growth. Too eager probably, it  just seems so slow. Maybe the pot is too big?

    This is then …

    -and this is now….

    @Songbird-2 - ah ok by buds I thought you meant flower buds :D. I wouldn't worry. I don't have that rose but it could be typical. Both my Constance Spry & Queen of Denmark bare roots I planted over winter look like your bottom picture. Plenty of time left for growth before the summer.

    Pots can not be big enough;).
    just give it time. It is only in the ground for 2 weeks?

    That rose looks really good Songbird, lots of nice shoots even low down... that'll be a fine rose as soon as the weather warms up a bit... no fret ...

    @Alfie_
    Some of those peonies had buds, but a few others looked to be foliage, but I wasn't looking too closely...  I picked one up to go with one I already have, and it had 3 buds on it..

    Good luck with your rose project if you do it.. 2.5 feet sounds about right..

    @Songbird-2 - looks good, you can see it’s growing. My new rose, Graham Thomas looks similar to yours. That was planted in late December.

    @Songbird-2 the Chevy Chase rambler that I bought at Peter Beales last month has only just started to sprout. I wouldn't worry, it looks fine.

    Thanks @Busy-Lizzie, I was expecting some quicker growth but I'll try and be patient🤭
    One thing I did want to ask was, do roses grow okay if sited in a slightly windy spot or are they better off in a more sheltered area? Mine has been in a rather windy area but I've moved it today to under the kitchen window where it's more sheltered and less windy. I do have a dome cloche over it too for protection. We are supposed to be having a heavy frost tomorrow night😱 ( It will be going in the greenhouse overnight).
