    @Marlorena

    I took your advice and ordered Alberic barbier, the rose looks a good fit to the space

    I also ordered roseraie de l'hay, to grow through a very vigorous Hydrangea petiolaris.

    Hi Marlorena, I noticed these spots on the newish growth on my climbing Graham Thomas. Is it BS already do you think, or a feed issue. Cheers.

    Just a fungus disease common in roses.. probably anthracnose..  just pick off affected leaves..

    Two lovely roses, I'm sure you'll be happy with those and delighted you've settled on them .. Roseraie has the most gorgeous scented blooms, very thorny..

    @Imprevu - mine’s quite easy really. I don’t do any special feeding or anything. In fact I can’t feed it because there’s no space around it - wedged between the lawn and the wild flower patch. The hard work is in the training and pruning but for most of the season I just leave it to do its thing.

    As we’ve all said before though, individual plants can vary hugely even if they’re the same variety. How old is yours?

    Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)
